a) Der Befehl
speaker-test -c 2 -D hw:0,0
müsste Sound bringen, da er die Soundkarte direkt und unmittelbar anspricht. PulseAudio hat idF gar keine Wirkung. Der Befehl umgeht auch SPDIF und schickt den Sound direkt auf "Line out". Wenn hier also nix passiert, dann gibt's ein grundlegendes Problem.
Befehl bringt keinen Sound, statt dessen die Ausgabe:

Wiedergabe-Gerät ist hw:0,0
Stream-Parameter sind 48000 Hz, S16_LE, 2 Kanäle

b) Bitte stelle die Soundkarte via Alsamixer "vernünftig" ein, d.h. alles, was du nicht brauchst auf Null (oder muten). Den Rest auf max. 0dB.
Habe ich gemacht; CD, Video, Mic u.a. gemutet. Im Übrigen habe ich festgestellt: Das letzte Element (ganz rechts) im Alsamixer "External Amplifier" stellt sich (als einziges) immer wieder selbst auf "mute" - bei jedem rebooten des Laptop.
c)Falls das nix hilft: bitte die Ausgabe von
dmesg | egrep -i "snd|alsa|hw0"
einstellen.
