Von dieser Seite habe ich ja diesen Befehl. | sudo apt-get install acroread

Wie oben angegeben kommt

Ich weiß sehr genau aus Erfahrung, dass die Leute streng werden, wenn ich nicht erst selbst suche. Nur speziell für 14.04 hab ich überhaupt nichts gefunden. Auf derselben von Dir angegebenen Seite steht, dass es bis Ubuntu 13.04 gültig ist. Habe ich möglicherweise weiter unten im Text irgendwas übersehen, wie ich trotzdem das Paket bekomme?

Ich habe jetzt diese Datei downloaded vom FTP-Server:
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/9.x/9.5.5/enu/AdbeRdr9.5.5-1_i386linux_enu.deb Muss ich die mit Ubuntu Software Center öffnen, oder gibt es einen Terminalbefehl, die Datei zu installieren?

Das Wiki ist eigentlich eindeutig. Zuerst muss die Canonical Partner Paketquelle aktiviert werden, dann findet die Paketverwaltung auch das Paket acroread. Du hast auch noch gdebi installiert, was vollkommen unnötig war, weil du es dann zur Installation ja doch nicht benutzt hast, sondern dpkg im Terminal verwendet hast. ~jug

Im Prinzip ist die Quelle ja nur noch für Pangolin relevant. Mir ist auch nicht klar, ob das Paket von Adobe überhaupt noch gepflegt wird. Ich würde es nicht mehr unter Linux nutzen, obwohl ich nicht weiß, wie sicherheitsrelevant das Ganze nun in der Praxis ist.

Ich hatte nur im Kopf, daß der Reader nicht mehr in den Quellen ist und es keine Entwicklung mehr gibt, aber das ist Unsinn. Der Reader ist seit über einem Jahr mausetot, steht ja alles im Wiki. Du hast 14.04 Trusty.

Eigentlich soll man ja nicht chatten, aber der Adobe ist der einzige, mit dem ich einstellen kann, dass er meine Kontoauszüge vor- und rückseitig ausdruckt. Das spart Papier wegen der Umwelt. Ansonsten bin ich sehr zufrieden mit evince

Die Einstellung für Duplex-Druck ist eigentlich Sache des Drucker-Treibers. Frag doch mal im passenden Forum hier nach. Das hielte ich für sinnvoller, als eine alte nicht mehr gepflegte Software einzusetzen. ~jug
