Hallo Ubuntu Community! Seit dem Update von 11.10 auf Ubuntu 12.04 habe ich immer wieder sporadische Abstürze der Sitzung (Bildschirm wird schwarz und dann fängt sich das System wieder bei der Anmelde Maske). Nachfolgend ein Auszug aus dem Syslog nach einem solchen Rücksturz. Auch friert immer wieder mal das System ein. Mitunter lässt sich der Mauszeiger noch bewegen aber kein Fenster mehr auswählen. Leider erwähnst Du nicht, welchen Treiber und GPU Du benutzt. Der Treiber aus den Ubuntu Quellen (.40) hat Probleme speziell mit älteren Karten. Du könntest mal kategorisch den aktuellsten Treiber installieren, 295.53 , über PPA ~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates installierbar.

Habe eine GeForce 8600 GT. Details siehe Anhang. Treiber ist der nvidia-current (295.40-0ubuntu1). Danke realzippy für den Tipp mit dem PPA. Das werde ich gleich versuchen. Ergänzung: Habe jetzt das PPA installiert und dann apt-get update / apt-get upgrade sowie einen Kaltstart ausgeführt.
Zwei Abstürze hatte der Rechner noch vor dem Kaltstart.
Mal sehen ob es nach dem Kaltstart besser wird...

Heute kam über das PPA ein Update des NVIDIA Treibers rein... Möchte ja den Tag nicht vor dem Abend loben, aber seit einigen Stunden läuft der Rechner stabil.  Ein fettes DANKE an alle Entwickler von Linux, Ubuntu!  Edit am folgenden Tag: War doch zu früh gelobt. Hatte heute wieder einen Rücksturz zum Login.  Das System scheint nach dem letzten Update stabiler zu sein. Ganz beseitigt ist das Problem jedoch noch nicht.

...ich häng mich hier mal ran. Habe exakt das gleiche Problem. Meine Grafikkarte 8600 GTS. Abstürze treten meist nur auf, wenn die Grafikkarte unter Last läuft (Video, Kaffeine, etc.) Mit Ubuntu 12.04 als auch mit Linux Mint.

Bitte gib mal eine Rückmeldung, sobald Du das beurteilen kannst. Das Forum ist -zumindest gefühlt - voll mit Problemen der 8000er Nvidia Karten in 12.04 ....

Seit Installation lief alles stabil. Bis eben  Trotzdem ist das System gefühlt stabiler. Ohne Nvidia Update hätte ich wahrscheinlich mehr Sitzungsabbrüche. System: Linux Mint Gruß

Könntest Du mal checken, ob bei Dir die TTYs funkionieren, d.h.,ob Terminals angezeigt werden wenn Du Strg+Alt+F1 (F2,F3,F4,F5,F6) drückst?

funktioniert tadellos. Kann mich überall anmelden. Der Rücksturz zum Loginfenster vom 10. Juni war bis jetzt wirklich der Einzige.

Bildschirm schwarz. Mauszeiger zu sehen, aber eingefroren. Versucht mit [STRG]+[ALT]+ 1] (2/3/4/5/6) in irgend ein Terminal zu gelangen. Jedoch vergebens. Habe versucht mich "blind" anzumelden, aber Bild ist fest eingefroren und hat sich nicht mehr gerührt. Versucht mit [ALT]+[DRUCK]+[K] die Oberfläche neu zu starten, aber schließlich bin ich bei [ALT]+[DRUCK]+[B] gelandet. Rechner fuhr neu hoch. Aus die Maus. Oben ist die Infolog zum Zeitpunkt des Absturzes. Falls mehr Infos gewünscht werden, mir bitte bescheid geben (was ich auslesen soll).
Hm, bitte check das auch nochmal, wenn die xsession ein paar Stunden alt ist. Du hast doch den 295.53 ?

2ter Absturz seit dem 11.6. Erstaunlicherweise hat sich der Rechner wieder gefangen. Kaffeine ist nach ca. 2 Stunden eingefroren. Ton lief kurzzeitig weiter. Danach stand alles. Tastenkombination [ALT]+[DRUCK]+[K] und ne ganze Weile gewartet. Und mit einmal war der Anmeldebildschirm wieder da, obwohl ewig lange nichts passiert ist. Bin eigentlich davon ausgegangen, dass der Rechner komplett stehen geblieben ist. Hier noch die letzten Systemmeldungen.
