Nachdem ich mich so langsam (& triefendes Auges) vom Luchs verabschieden wollte dräut schon die nächste Katastrophe: Ein von Beginn an crashendes System.

Mehrfach neu aufgesetzt mit 12.10 & 12.04, mit & ohne fglrx-Treiber, Programm-Installationen wahlweise über Konsole, Synaptic & Software-Center. Von Anfang an bei jedem neuen System Nautilus-Crashs, Firefox-Meldungen, unter 12.04 Probleme beim Herunterfahren, unter 12.10 allerdings nicht.

Der häufigste Nautilus-Crash bringt die Fehlermeldung

nautilus crashed with SIGABRT in raise()

, passend dazu 970534 der wiederum auf 905686 verweist. Der Status scheint ja ungelöst zu sein & mit Unity zu tun zu haben. Sicher bin ich mir allerdings nicht, weil zwischendurch auch die Paketverwaltung immer mal wieder spinnt.

Kurz & schlecht, ich weiß gerade gar nicht, wo ich ansetzen soll - Cinnamon nachinstallieren & versuchen, ob es klappt (dabei hatte ich mehrer Abstürze & kein Cinnamon zu sehen, obwohl installiert), auf XFCE umsteigen, Unity irgendwie zähmen?

(Ich war mir nicht mal sicher, in welchen Bereich das jetzt gehört...)

Mit Pinning verwaltete Pakete:

sudo dpkg --configure -a ergab heute morgen ein kleines Problem mit einem nicht richtig installierten Dropbox-Paket, da ist aber inzwischen alles O.K. Alten Kernel per autoremove entfernt & von den PPAs werden alle bis auf Opera deaktiviert - ich hab's nur noch nicht gemacht, falls da doch ein Fehler drinsteckt.

Ansonsten crasht Nautilus weiterhin.

Übers Terminal aufgerufen kam nur einmal folgende Meldung:

Ich frage mich inzwischen vor allem, ob mein PC vielleicht zu lahm für Unity allgemein ist weil auch alles sehr langsam läuft & das System häufig einfriert.

Ich war jetzt mal ein paar Minuten in einer Gastsitzung, da ist nichts passiert. Die Abstürze sind allerdings manchmal auch nur alle paar Stunden. Relativ langsam ist das System allerdings auch in der Gastsitzung.

Anscheinend doch kein Unity-Problem: Unter nachinstalliertem Cinnamon genau das gleiche Problem: nemo crashed in SIGABRT in raise() System ist langsam, hängt sich dauernd auf.

Über weitergehende Ideen wäre ich äußerst dankbar.

Hilft es, wenn du bei der Anmeldung "Ubuntu 2D" als Sitzung auswählst (du musst dazu auf das Ubuntu-Symbol hinter dem Benutzernamen klicken)?

Ich glaube, ich habe jetzt alle Möglichkeiten in 2D & 3D durch & überall kriege ich diese Dateimanager-Abstürze & habe ein langsames, instabiles System.

Was genau ist am System langsam: Verschieben von Fenstern, Aufklappen von Menüs usw., Reaktion auf Eingaben, Kopieren von Dateien, Starten von Programmen, ...?

Ja, habe ich & genau das macht mich ja so stutzig!

Ich habe die Probleme auch mit einem komplett frisch installiertem System ohne jegliche Veränderungen, ohne Fremdquellen, ohne auch nur eine Ansicht in Nautilus umzustellen. Ich übernehme auch keine Daten meiner Home-Sicherung, sondern formatiere immer erst. Dachte schon, es läge am Grafikkartentreiber, aber sowohl mit als ohne fglrx stürzt es mir ab.

Verschieben von Fenstern & Aufklappen von Menüs: Da ist mir keine besondere Langsamkeit aufgefallen. Alles andere: langsam, friert manchmal kurzzeitig ein, friert auch mal komplett ein, Neustart ist in manchen Fällen nur mit Magic SysRq möglich.

Das jetzige System hat nur noch den neuen Kernel, bei der vorherigen Installation habe ich auch den alten Kernel versucht - gleiches Problem!

Mir fällt da leider auch nichts mehr ein.

Dann muß ich wohl nach Lösung meines anderen (Datenrettungs-)Problems mal Xubunutu & zur Not auch Lubuntu anschauen - auch wenn ich eigentlich nicht glaube, daß das System wirklich zu schwachbrüstig für Unity ist.

mich würde dein System interessieren, also die Hardware (oder bin ich nur blind und habs überlesen?), evtl. mit lspci und lsusb im verbose-Modus.

Hast du auch schon mal versuchsweise eine komplett andere Distrie installiert (also was nicht debianoides oder ubuntiges). Slackware oder Ableger davon wie z.B. Salix oder mal Sabayon als Gentoo-Ableger. Wenn die Probleme da auch auftreten. Tipp ich eher auf ein Hardware Problem.

Ich habe übrigens wegen eines anderen Problems gerade Testdisk im Einsatz & bekomme eine "HDD to small"-Meldung. Laut Testdisk-Anleitung weist das auf ein 48bitlba-Problem hin (1TB-Festplatte). Kann das damit irgendwie zusammenhängen?

Tante Edith sagt: Nein, ich habe noch keine andere Distri ausprobiert. Mir wurde mal als nicht-debianoide "Anfänger"-Distri Fedora empfohlen. Sollte ich das mal versuchen?
