Nabend zusammen, Ich versuche seit stunden mein UMTS Modem in einem Thinkpad zu installieren. Das Modem steckt im PCI Express Mini Card Slot. Langsam fällt mir auf das ich das Modem garnicht als Hardware erkenne, sondern die ganze Zeit mit dem Bluetooth device verwechsel ☺ | ~$ lsusb

Schau mal als erstes, ob das Gerät überhaupt im BIOS aktiviert ist. Einschaltenknopf drücken ThinkVantage-Knopf drücken F1 drücken Security → I/O-Port-Access ggf. Änderungen abspeichern und neu starten

Vielen Danlk für die schnelle Antwort! Im Bios ist es ganz sicher eingeschaltet, sorry das hätte ich erwähnen sollen. Diverse Tutotials habe ich durchgearbeitet weil ich das Bluetooth Gerät für das UMTS Modem gehalten habe.
Die Hauptfrage bleibt also weiterhin ob das UMTS-Modul (welches seit kauf vor 5 Jahren eingebaut war) schlichtweg defekt ist. 1

Und Du bist ganz sicher, dass da eine Gobi verbaut ist – sprich Du hattest das ThinkPad offen zum Nachschauen? Ist eine SIM eingelegt? Richtig herum? Von welchem ThinkPad-Modell genau reden wir übrigens? Zeig mal

Eine Sim-Karte habe ich leider nicht eingelegt, weil ich dafür im Moment immer die aus der dem Handy nehmen muss. Kann ich allerdings gerne machen und die Konsoleneingaben wiederholen. Aber das Modem sollte ja trotzdem angezeigt werden. Die Karte hat auch vor 4 Jahren mal mit Windows mal funktioniert. Vielen Dank bis dahin!

So, ich habe jetzt eine SIM-Karte eingelegt und alle Konsolenbefehle erneut eingegeben. Es kommt leider immernoch die selbe Konsolenausgabe. Schade, ich probiere demnächst noch eine andere Sim-Karte - vielleicht macht diese probleme obwohl sie im Handy funktioniert. Mfg& Schönen Abend!

Probier noch einen Hardware Reset und BIOS Defaults. Hilft das und die andere SIM nicht, würde ich von defekter Gobi ausgehen.

Den Hardware reset habe ich bereits vor den Ganzen Ausgaben gemacht. Ich habe die mal in ein anderes Thinkpad (T410) eingebaut und auch keine reaktion festegestellt. Das Modem wird defekt sein, ich habe mir ein neues beim großem Online Auktionshaus für 14Euro mit Versand bestellt. VIelen Dank für die ganze Hilfe& Ich berichte wenn das neue läuft,

Ohne jetzt Werbung machen zu wollen - die hier gibts zu ähnlichen Preisen - vom (Leasing-Rückläufer-)Händler. Allerdings würde ich eher zum Ericsson-Modell raten - das läuft nämlich ootb.

Vielen Dank nochmal für die Hilfe! Das Modem hatte ich leider schon beim Auktionshaus bestellt, funktioniert jetzt auch hervorragend!
Ich musste nurnoch die SimKarte einstecken und alles hat geklappt. Schönen Abend zusammen!
