ich habe seit ein paar tagen ein Problem mit unserer externen Festplatte (ntfs 360gb). Trotz ntfs-3g konnten wir mit unseren ubuntu-Rechnern nicht mehr auf die Platte schreiben. Ich dachte es sei deswegen eine gute Idee auf fat32 zu wechseln. ich wollte dazu die Platte, welche weniger als zur Hälfte voll ist partitionieren, die neue Partition in fat32 bringen, die Daten rüberziehen und dann den Rest der ntfs in fat32 umwandeln. Leider ist es soweit nicht gekommen. Die Platte hat sich während des Vorganges (Rezizing und anschließende Partitionierung mit gparded) selbst gemounted, weswegen der Vorgang nicht beendet werden konnte. Darauf hin hab ich kalte Füße bekommen und wollte das Ganze rückgängig machen. Auch dabei wurde die Platte gemounted und so wars wieder Essig. Die Platte hat dadurch die Hälfte ihrer Kapazität verloren. Ich konnte nur noch auf die Partitionierung mit den Daten (ntfs) zugreifen. Der Rest war irgendwie weg. Das wär ja nur halb so schlimm, aber nachdem ich den Computer entnervt runtergefahren hab kann die Platte nun gar nicht mehr gemounted werden. Auch unter unseren Windows Rechnern wird nur angezeigt, dass auf das unbekannte Gerät nicht zugegriffen werden kann.

Leider seh ich die Platte nach einem Neustart nicht einmal mehr unter fdisk.... sie hat übrigens ne externe stromversorgung, die auch funktioniert. Die Platte macht Geräusche und an der USB-Verbindung dürfts auch nicht liegen.

Also, ich glaube, das erste wäre mal ein prüfen auf Wackelige Stecker und/oder Kabelbrüche...laut einiger Foren sind das die ersten Sachen, die das verursachen könnten.

oder schreibe das hier in die /etc/modprobe.conf (und starte danach neu bzw. stoppe und starte alle USB-Module

Leider weiß ich nicht was du mit "das hier" meinst was soll ich genau wo eintragen?
An den Kabeln wird es nicht liegen. Ich wohn in einer großen Gemeinschaft und wir haben mehrere Computer zur Auswahl. Komischerweise macht die Platte bei einem Computer (win xp) überhaupt keine Mucken, bei meinem (win xp und ubuntu) parallel geht aber kaum noch was. Kaum sag ich weil heute morgen war die Platte auf einmal wieder unter ubuntu da, obwohl ich meiner Meinung nach nichts anders gemacht habe. Ich wollte sie mir dann mal mit Gparted anschauen, weil der Fehler ja durch die Partitionierung aufgetreten ist, und nachdem ich die Platte unter Gparted ausgehängt hab ist wieder Essig. Es funktioniert nicht einmal mehr die Platte manuell zu mounten, selbst wenn ich sie bei dem Windowsrechner wo sie funktioniert sicher entferne.
Fragen über Fragen...
Ach ja beim Rechner wo sie funktioniert sagt Partition Magic "error#1529 Information mismatch in directory entry" wenn ich sie checke. Was ich nun machen kann weiß ich leider auch nicht....

Tja ich geb nicht auf. Nachdem sich die Platte nun auf einem ubuntu Rechner wieder zeigt (leider kann sie dort nicht beschrieben werden und das unmounten funktioniert auch nur manuell) bleibt sie auf meinem immer noch flüchtig. Hat jemand eine Idee, wie ich sie überhaupt zu Gesicht bekomme? Nicht einmal der Befehl sudo fdisk -l macht sie sichtbar.

Tja wies scheint ist bei der Platte was im Regeristy kaputt. Ich werde mir wohl bald eine zusätzliche Platte kaufen, die Daten transferieren und dann neu formatieren. Damit sollte sich das doch erledigt haben, oder. Ich hab jetzt auch rausgefunden, dass ich nach dem Booten einfach mit strg alt f1 in den textmodus gehen muss. Dann findet der Rechner mit fdisk -l die Platte und ich kann manuell mounten. Ich hab also keine Ahnung warum, kann aber erstmal, wenn auch sehr beschränkt wieder mit meinen Daten arbeiten. Soll ich auf Thread gelöst klicken?
Vielen Dank an alle im Forum für eure unbezahlbare Hilfe. Es ist unglaublich zu sehen wie viele von euch ihre Freizeit nutzten um "dem unbekannten Anderen" auf der anderen Seite der Datenleitung zu helfen. Respekt und weiter so
