In /etc/gdm/gdm.conf nach [xdmcp] suchen und drunter Enable=false einstellen.

Bei KDE wäre es in der /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc
Der XServer sollte mit -nolisten tcp gestartet werden
Das passiert in der /etc/X11/xinit/xserverrc
Dort steht dann sowas wie,
exec /usr/bin/X11/X -dpi 100 -nolisten tcp
