Hallo,

nach Einfügen des Moduls ax88179_178a für USB3 nach Gigabit von ASIX http://asix.com.tw/download.php?sub=driverdetail&PItemID=131 (Version 1.9. vom 2.1.2014), erscheint ca. alle 10 Sekunden der Hinweis, das die Kabelverbindung neu verbunden wurde. In der Zeit zwischen den Verbindungswechseln funktioniert die Verbindung für einige Sekunden gut, dann geht wieder nichts.

Mal ganz platt gefragt: Was kann man dagegen machen?

Hallo,
wird der Adapter tatsächlich an einem USB-3 Anschluß betrieben? Möglicherweise ist die Stromversorgung ansonsten nicht ausreichend. Es sollte mit reduzierter Datenrate auch an einen USB-2.0 Anschluß funktionieren, manche USB-Controller reagieren da aber empfindlich, vor allem wenn noch weitere Geräte angeschlossen sind.

Wie man sieht wechselt ja der Link-Status, der Logauszug ist für eine genauere Diagnose aber nicht lang genug.

Lass mal ein udev-Monitoríng mitlaufen, ob der Adapter sich jedesmal neu am System anmeldet:

Hallo,

vielen Dank für die Antwort. Um einem Missverständnis vorzubeugen, das Yoga wird über einen proprietären Stecker mit der Dockingstation verbunden. Da es auch eine USB2 Dockingstation gibt, habe darauf hingewiesen. Im Log sieht man, dass sich im wesentlichen nur USB3 Geräte verbinden.

Anmerkung: Da nichts nicht geloggt wird, während sich das LAN immer wieder neu verwendet, habe ich den Stecker mal mit Log ein und ausgezogen. Dazwischen befindet sich auch eine Logitechmaus... bitte nicht stören lassen ☺

Hallo,
Udevmomitor einfach mitlaufen lassen. wenn Du den Adapter von Hand abziehst kommen natürlich entsprechende Meldungen, was aber nichts mit der Problemfindung zu tun hat. Erscheinen dort keine Meldungen, so reinitialisiert sich der Adapter auch nicht, also kein Fehler an dieser Stelle.

Dann im Syslog nach Fehlern schauen, Filter der Abfrage ggf. erweitern:

egrep -i 'asix|eth|firm|reason|link|ax8' /var/log/syslog 

Dann ergibt sich möglicherweise noch etwas durch ethtool:

sudo ethtool -S eth0 
sudo ethtool eth0

Bei der Ausgabe von ifconfig sind bislang allerdings keine Paketfehler und ähnliches vermerkt.

Die Hinweise "Kabelnetzwer verbunden / getrennt" erscheinen weiterhin, jedoch ist mit dieser Einstellung ein durchgehender Download möglich (Test mit einer 600MB Datei).

Danke, alles ausprobiert, keine Verbesserung. Die Verbindung wird nach wie vor immer wieder neu aufgebaut. Das riecht doch sehr nach einem Bug... der Chipsatz ist auch recht frisch.

Das Problem ist für meine Anwendung nicht so gravierend, alsdass ich einen älteren Kernel verwenden und mir somit ggf. andere Probleme in Haus holen könnte.

Stattdessen scheint mir ein Bugreport als auch die Weiterleitung an Asix am sinnvollsten. Wenn es was neues gibt, schreibe ich es hier hin. Viele Grüße!

ich hatte das gleich Problem mit meinem Thinkpad Yoga und dem OneLink Pro Dock.

Ein Bios Update (http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS038335) hat das Problem behoben.

Im Bios Changelog steht: "(Fix) Fixed an issue where the Ethernet through ThinkPad OneLink Dock might be disconnected."

Danke für die Antwort. Das Update hatte inzwischen auch installiert, die Probleme blieben jedoch. Auch hat das USB3-Ethernet-Adapter von Lenovo das gleiche Verhalten gezeigt. Vielleicht hing das auch mit dem installierten Modul von ASIX -warum auch immer- oder meinem ganzen Änderungen zusammen, die ich händisch durchgeführt habe (neues Spielzeug eben 😉 ).

Wie auch immer, vorgestern habe ich auf 14.04 geupgraded, was außer zusätzlichen Problemen nichts gebracht hat. Erst seit der Neuinstallation von 14.04. LTS läuft bisher alles bestens. Das System war vermutlich schon zu sehr vermurkst. Keine Probleme mit dem Dock oder dem USB-Eth-Adpater. Da ich langfristig bei der LTS-Version bleiben möchte, hat sich die Neuinstallation auch gelohnt, denke ich.

Hallo zusammen,

der letzte Beitrag ist zwar schon was her, aber ich habe aktuell das gleiche Problem mit den ständigen Verbindungsabbrüchen mit meinem Thinkpad Yoga S1 und der OneLink Pro Dock unter Ubuntu 15.04. Testweise hab ich mal die 14.04 LTS Live-CD ausprobiert, aber auch da bekomme ich nach ein paar Minuten die gleichen Verbindungsabbrüche.

Nach dem Verbindungsabbruch sieht man auch hinten am Netzwerkstecker der Dockingstation, dass die LEDs einmal kurz komplett aus und dann wieder an gehen. Das Gerät wird offensichtlich neugestartet.

Unter Windows 10 hab ich bisher keine Probleme in der Richtung.

Achso, ich sollte noch erwähnen, dass ich natürlich die neueste Bios-Version des Laptops und Firmware des Docks installiert habe, bei denen der bei Lenovo bekannte Fehler eigentlich behoben sein sollte.

Wie sieht es bei euch mit neuen Ubuntu-Versionen aus?

Das Problem konnte ich in der Zwischenzeit selber lösen (siehe meinen Blog-Eintrag hier).

Es ist wichtig, die Energieverwaltung der Audiohardware zu aktivieren, was einmalig (bis zum nächsten Neustart) mittels

funktioniert.

Hallo,

der Thread ist zwar schon etwas älter und trifft auch nicht genau mein Problem (ich konnte im Internet aber auch noch niemanden mit einem ähnlichen Problem finden), aber ihr scheint zumindest alle ein neueres Thinkpad mit OneLink Dock zu haben.

Mein Yoga S1 verliert ständig kurzzeitig die Verbindung zum OneLink Basic Dock, der Monitor geht dann standby und die Lautsprecher Knarzen fürchterlich, Maus und Tastatur funktionieren nicht. Der Monitor wird erst wieder aktiviert wenn ich unter Systemsteuerung auf Anzeigegeräte klicke.

Aktuelles Bios ist drauf und auch den Tip von StephanG habe ich probiert, wobei ich den Befehl

echo '1' > '/sys/module/snd_hda_intel/parameters/power_save';

nicht eingeben kann, auch mit sudo davor bekomme ich immer ein "Keine Berechtigung" als ausgabe, aber mittels TLP konnte ich hoffentlich das gleiche bewirken. → allerdings ohne Erfolg.

Einen Hardwarefehler kann ich ausschließen, unter Windows läuft alles. Zeitraum der Fehler 5 - 60 Min.

Hat jemand vielleicht einen Lösungsansatz, oder zumindest eine Idee wonach ich schauen kann?
