Hallo, nachdem ich nun schon einige Monate damit kämpfe stelle ich die Frage mal hier: Ich habe ein Acer Travelmate P648 mit Ubuntu 18.04. Ich verwende Ubuntu seit 10.04 als Produktivsystem, aber immer und problemlos mit Thinkpads.
Nun funktioniert hier auch alles ganz wunderbar, außer eben meine Audiobuchse. Ich habe hier und da schon von dem Problem gelesen, aber noch keine funktionierende Lösung entdeckt.
Problem:
Audio über Lautsprecher funktioniert. Stecke ich Kopfhörer an, bleibt das Audio bei den internen Lautsprechern. Der Ausgang wird also nicht "umgeschaltet". Schließe ich etwas via HDMI an, kommt auch kein Sound über den Anschluss, sondern über die internen Lautsprecher.
Lösung bisher:
Man kann im Alsa-Mixer in der Konsole manuell rumprobieren, die Kopfhörer unmuten und aufdrehen. Das dauert manchmal ein wenig und ist sehr experimentell, aber anscheinend ist ja kein Hardware-Defekt vorhanden. Hat jemand schon ein ähnliches Problem gehabt und ein Workaround gefunden? Das ist eine Inkompatibilität, bei weit verbreiteter Hardware besteht die Möglichkeit, daß so etwas mit einem neuen Kernel behoben wird. oder alsa-daily. "Jack Sense", kann man auch mit Tool hda-jack-retask angehen. Dabei wird die Pinbelegung geflasht. Ich würde damit leben, immerhin war das Gerät ja sicher sehr preiswert "Acer". HDMI ist ein anderes Problem, da mußt du vermutlich nur im Panel Applet die Soundkarte switchen. Da es sich um ein hardwarespezifisches Problem handelt, könntest du auch etwas über Google finden.

Bei Google habe ich schon ein bischen geschaut, aber da findet sich auch keine richtige Lösung..
Preiswert war es ja eben nicht, die Travelmate-Serie ist die Geschäfts-Serie von Acer. Die ist preislich auch in etwa bei Thinkpad, Elitebook, Latitude.
Ich habe bei diesen Herstellern nur nichts gefunden mit dedizierter Grafikkarte, 2 Festplatten-Slots, 14 Zoll, Dock, i7, Hintergrundbeleuchtung, 16GB RAM, Akku wechselbar, LAN, HDMI, VGA, LTE, Thunderbold, SD-Slot.
Falls hier noch jemand Tipps für ein langlebiges Notebook mit diesen Eigenschaften hat, dann würde ich mich natürlich freuen, wäre auch ein Art Problemlösung 🤓
Ich komme ja wie gesagt aus der Thinkpadreihe und habe vor diesem Notebook auch das X380 und das T480 probiert, aber die sind deutlich schlechter als das aktuelle Acer Travelmate.

Die Ausgabe von dmesg | egrep -i "alsa|snd|hdmi" ist sehr merkwürdig,hab ich so noch nie gesehen. Mal wget http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh -O alsa-info.sh && bash alsa-info.sh --stdout >~/alsa-ergebnis.txt Die Textdatei alsa-ergebnis.txt hier mal anhängen (Liegt im Home) Was hast du genau verändert und was ist davon wieder zurück geändert wurden? Mal ein Terminal öffnen alsactl monitor auf lassen und den Kopfhörer ein und ausstecken,dann die Ausgabe hier zeigen.

Das kann auch an ganz trivialen mechanischen oder elektrischen Inkompatibilitäten liegen. Bei Klinkensteckverbindern gibt es (neben 2-poligen, die hier nicht interessieren) die 3-poligen TRS und die 4-poligen TRRS. Bei den TRRS-Verbindern gibt es auch noch 2 unterschiedliche elektrische Beschaltungen. TRRS-Buchsen gibt es bei Smartphones und bei manchen Rechnern, bei den Kopfhörern gibt es TRS und TRRS. In der Praxis gelten für eigentlich unpassende Kombinationen diese Regeln: Ein Kopfhörer mit TRS-Stecker in einer TRRS-Buchse funktioniert meistens. Ein Kopfhörer mit TRRS-Stecker in einer TRS-Buchse funktioniert meistens nicht. Ein Kopfhörer mit TRRS-Stecker in einer TRRS-Buchse funktioniert nicht immer (wegen der beiden möglichen unterschiedlichen Beschaltungen der Kontakte).

Ok,erkannt wir es das du den Kopfhörer einsteckst card 0, #28 (0,0,0,Headphone Jack,1) VALUE Wenn du den Kopfhörer eingesteckt hast rufe mal im Terminal den alsamixer auf.Hier solltest du nun 2x den Headphone sehen Headphone+LO
Headphone kontrolliere ob beide auf 00 stehen und hochgeregelt sind,sie sollen nicht auf MM stehen.Zeige wenn der Kopfhörer eingesteckt ist amixer -c 0 scontents

Also der Kopfhörer ist gemutet, also auf "MM". Ich kann das dann wie gesagt manuell mit "m" unmuten und aufdrehen. Dann muss ich in den Einstellungen noch den Line-Ausgang auswählen und dann funktioniert der Kopfhörer. Ob wir es Automatisch umstellen können versuchen wir ja gerade 🤓 Rufe wieder den alsamixer auf und navigiere dich zu Auto-Mute Mode dort wähle mal Line Out+Speaker das steht jetzt auf Disabled. Dann sudo alsactl store Teste nach einem Neustart ob die Einstellung erhalten bleibt und wie der Effekt ist mit dem Kopfhörer.

Nur mal aus Interesse - welcher Fehler war das denn? Anscheinend ist ja alles kompatibel, oder?

Alles klar. Mein Notebook hat auch die Docking-Option, und die will ich mir auch noch besorgen.
Ich komme wie gesagt von der Thinkpad-X-Serie, das hatte ich als Haupt-PC immer mit 2 Bildschirmen gedockt.. Ich werde mal beizeiten noch das HDMI ausprobieren, aber vielen Dank schon mal!!
