Hallo zusammen! Ich bin vor kurzem wieder auf UBUNTU 19.04 [nun KUBUNTU 19.04] umgestiegen und mittlerweile ist alles außer der Soundkarte eingerichtet. Die Soundkarte, eine Creative Soundblaster ZxR, bereitet jedoch Probleme und treibt mich in den Wahnsinn! Ich habe ein Teufel Concept E 5.1 Audio System, welches per 3x 3,5 mm Klinkenstecker an meiner Soundkarte angeschlossen ist. Entsprechend habe ich Analog 5.1 als Konfiguration in Plasma ausgewählt. Dort ist es auch möglich die Tonausgabe zu testen und genau hier liegt mein Problem: Von den 6 Lautsprechern funktioniert nur der vordere linke und rechte korrekt. Alle anderen Boxen werden beim drauf klicken entweder auf dem vorderen linken oder rechten Lautsprecher ausgegeben. Die hinteren Boxen werden gar nicht angesprochen. Ich habe schon zahlreiche Artikel, configs und Tutorials ausprobiert, nichts brachte erfolgt. Die hinteren Lautsprecher, der Center und der Subwoofer bleiben still.
Stattdessen übernehmen die vordere linke und rechte Box alle Aufgaben. Bisher konnte ich keinen Fall finden, der meine Ausgangslage widerspiegelt. Der Großteil der Beiträge bezieht sich auf HDMI Tonausgabe oder um verdrehte Tonausgaben: spricht der Klang ist auf allen Boxen da, jedoch müssen einige Boxen getauscht werden. Hier* habe ich schon einmal einen Beitrag verfasst, jedoch scheint die Soundblaster-Gemeinde klein zu sein.

Die Informationen auf reddit bzgl. einer 5.1 Konfiguration sind leider sehr dürftig. Zwar wird dort geschrieben, dass man im alsamixer die Output Selection von "Line Out" auf "Surround" stellen solle, doch hat das lediglich zur Folge, dass die beiden linken und rechten vorderen Lautsprecher nicht mehr das Audiosignal der anderen Boxen wiedergeben. Einerseits teilweise erfreulich, jedoch andererseits bleiben die Lautsprecher Center, Rear und der Subwoofer leise. Das Forum fand ich über folgenden Thread*. Ich hoffe hier kennt jemand eine Lösung für das Problem 😀

Für die Grundlagen: Soundsystem. Du musst herausfinden, wo der Fehler entsteht. Da beginnst du möglichst nah an der Soundkarte, also bei ALSA, resp. bei Alsamixer.
# spricht die Soundkarte direkt an (analoger Ausgang):
speaker-test -c6 -D hw:Creative,0
# bzw
speaker-test -c6 -D plughw:Creative,0
# spricht mit der von ALSA abstrahierten Schicht:
speaker-test -c6 -D sourround51
Wie sieht es da aus?
... dass man im alsamixer die Output Selection von "Line Out" auf "Surround" stellen solle ...
Ja, damit während der Tests etwas rumprobieren kann nicht schaden.

Ok... 🙄 Hier gibt's einen Thread dazu, der u.a. auch auf die von dir genannte reddit-Seite verweist. Wie ist das mit der ominösen Firmware, die die Karte offenbar braucht? Hast du da was installiert? Welcher Kernel läuft bei dir? Die ZxR-Patches sind wohl ab Kernel 4.20 drin...

Der Grund wieso ich mich eine Weile nicht gemeldet habe: Ich habe natürlich auch im Internet gesucht und gesucht. Letztendlich habe ich den von mir oben genannten reddit-Thread nochmal durchgekämmt und mich dann dazu entschlossen den Patch dort auf mein KUBUNTU 19.04 anzuwenden. Das hat zwar einerseits nicht zur totalen OS-Vernichtung geführt, aber andererseits meine Audioausgabe komplett zum verstummen gebracht. Der Grund war wohl der, dass ich der Anleitung eines Nutzers gefolgt bin der das ganze für ARCH beschrieben hatte. Da KUBUNTU 19.04 den Kernel 5.0.0 verwendet und zu dem Stand eine Neuinstallation unausweichlich war, nahm ich meinen USB-Stick zur Hand. Auf diesem ist MANJARO Cinnamon 18.0 installiert. Das tolle an MANJARO ist, dass man sehr leicht den Kernel wechseln kann. Ich wollte also sicherstellen, dass die Fehlerhafte Audio-Ausgabe unter KUBUNTU nicht an der Kernel-Version lag. Letzter Stand auf meinem USB-Stick mit MANJARO ist der, dass neuere Kernel-Versionen (bspw. 5.2) keine Veränderung der Ton-Ausgabe bringen. Die ZxR wird unterstützt, aber mehr als zwei Kanäle (front left/front right) bekomme ich nicht zum laufen. So. Unter MANJARO ging es mir während der Tests ziemlich auf den Nerv, dass meine Grafikkarte mit HDMI Ausgang immer als erste Tonquelle gesetzt wurde. Der alsamixer zeigte daher standardmäßig immer meine Grafikkarte an. Das ganze lässt sich zwar mit einer config unter ~/.asoundrc lösen, jedoch war mir das Risiko zu hoch, dass aufgrund einer falschen Zeile dort meine Audio-Ausgabe nicht richtig funktionierte. Eine kurze Zeit lang hatte ich damit also nur noch meine Creative Karte, doch nach dem ganzen hin und her gefummel funktionierte an irgendeiner Stelle der speaker-test nicht mehr. Er wollte mit meiner Soundkarte nicht mehr zusammen arbeiten. Er meinte irgendwas mit "falscher Parameter". Ich kam also nicht auf meinem USB-Stick unter MANJARO weiter und auf dem PC hatte ich ein stilles KUBUNTU. Daher holte ich den UBUNTU Installationsstick wieder raus und installierte Ubuntu auf dem PC neu. Gnome gefiel mir doch irgendwie auch besser. Das heißt ich habe ein völlig jungfreuliches UBUNTU 19.04. Ohne spezielle configs, Fummeleien* und sonstigem. Das einzige was ich verändert habe ist die Sache mit der /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf die steht wieder mit

Stand ist der, dass mit speaker-test -c6 mit Line Out oder Surround keine 5.1 Lautsprecher, sondern nur 2 angesprochen werden.
Ich fand übrigens heraus, dass wenn Line Out ausgewählt und FX Surround aktiviert ist, speaker-test alle Töne auf den vorderen beiden (links/rechts) Lautsprechern ausgibt. Man hört also wahlweise die Töne des Centers, rear left etc. auf einen der beiden vorderen Lautsprechern. Wie eingangs in meinem ersten Post beschrieben. Deaktiviert man FX Surround bleiben alle Lautsprecher außer vorne links/rechts still, die "Emulation" der nicht funktionierenden Lautsprecher wird also nicht auf den vorderen beiden Lautsprechern durchgeführt. Mit dem Profil Surround hat FX Surround keinen Einfluss auf die Tonausgabe von speaker-test. Alle Lautsprecher außer vorne links/rechts bleiben still. * Meine Aussage mit "ohne Fummeleien" ist nicht ganz richtig. Nachdem ich oben beschriebenen Sachverhalt ertestete, habe ich noch einmal das Thema Firmware aufgenommen. Unter /usr/lib/firmware/ liegt die ctefx.bin. Diese ist von 2017, was erst einmal nichts heißen muss. Ich entschloss mich also noch einmal das Thema Patch anzugehen. Diesmal folgte ich der Anleitung von Conmanx360, parallel fand ich hier im Forum das gleiche Vorgehen zum Bauen des Patches (https://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/kein-sound-nach-dem-hochfahren/). Es funktionierte auch alles wunderbar! Leider brachte der Patch nichts. Ich glaube er richtet sich an Leute die einen nicht aktuellen Kernel besitzen, der den Patch noch nicht beinhaltet. Ubuntu 19.04 mit Kernel 5.0.0 beinhaltet jedoch scheinbar schon diesen Patch. Der Patch entscheidet meiner Meinung nach eher darüber ob die Soundblaster Z/Zx/ZxR überhaupt funktioniert und vom alsamixer unterstützt wird, was sie bei mir ja tut (mit einer Ausnahme). Ich hoffe, dass ich einige Informationen bereitstellen konnte, die bei der Fehlersuche hilfreich sind.

Zeige mal bitte bash /usr/share/alsa-base/alsa-info.sh --stdout >alsa.txt die alsa.txt befindet sich dann in deinem Home Ordner.Hänge sie hier mal an.Zur Zeit wird auch nur ein Ausgang angesprochen [ 13.905733] snd_hda_codec_ca0132 hdaudioC0D1: hp_outs=1 (0xf/0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0) Das Deckt sich mit dem Specker-test. Zeige außerdem mal pacmd info amixer -c 0 scontents aplay -L

Nach etwas recherche fand ich noch folgenden Beitrag auf https://www.bananas-playground.net/2019/04/gentoo-und-creative-labs-sound-core3d/: "Das besondere daran ist das Einbinden der Firmware und verwenden der ctefx-desktop.bin von diesem Beitrag. Erst mit dieser Binary und Anpassung der Kernel optionen kam es zum Erfolg." Ich weiß zwar nicht wo ich diese Zeilen reinschreiben müsste, aber könnte mir das bei dem Problem weiterhelfen?

Wird die Firmware denn überhaupt geladen?
dmesg | grep snd Imo sollte das mit einem 5er Kernel, nach dem Installieren der richtigen Firmware - ootb funktionieren. 🙄

Da hat sich auf meiner Seite der Fehlerteufel eingeschlichen. Ich hatte die ctefx-desktop.bin von reddit in ctefx.bin umbenannt und nach /lib/firmware kopiert. Ich wollte wissen ob damit vielleicht der Fehler behoben wird, da vielleicht die ctefx-desktop.bin nicht genutzt wird? Natürlich habe ich die originale ctefx.bin vorher gesichert.. Das ist aber wohl irgendwie schief gelaufen.. Ich habe mir die originale ctefx.bin aus dem aktuellen 19.10er Build genommen und die unter /lib/firmware damit ersetzt:

Damit natürlich weiterhin sichergestellt ist, dass dadurch in den ganzen Abfragen nichts übersehen wurde habe ich alle noch einmal angestoßen. Ausgangssituation ist die, dass die originale ctefx.bin wieder in /lib/firmware liegt, ich den Patch aus dem reddit-Thread eingespielt habe, die ctefx-desktop.bin ebenfalls unter /lib/firmware liegt und ich mit der /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf meine Grafikkarte rausgeschmissen habe. Im alsamixer ist der Surround Ausgang gewählt und anschließend wurden alle Abfragen nachfolgend angestoßen:

Magst du als erstes mal bitte aus der /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf diese Einträge wieder löschen 😉 options snd_hda_intel enable=1 index=0
options snd_hda_intel enable=0 index=1 Mein nächster Schritt wäre Pulse zu Entfernen,um festzustellen ob Alsa die Kanäle Verwalten kann. sudo apt -s purge pulseaudio Das ist nur eine Simulation! Vielleicht hat pepre einen anderen Vorschlag?

Ich hab pulseaudio jetzt erstmal nicht deinstalliert. Wir können da aber gerne wie die Axt im Walde rein. Das OS ist schnell wieder installiert ^^
