Hallo zusammen, ich bitte um Hilfestellung zu den ACPI Bios. Bevor ich die Ubuntu DVD 18.04.02 mit dem aktuellen ISO installiere, habe ich heute diese am PC zuvor getestet.
Es war lange ein schwarzer Bildschirm anschließend Ubuntu-Bildschirm und dann eine Liste der Errors vom ACPI BIOS. Die lauteten: "Could not resolve ...SB.PCIO.SATO.SPT5._GT ..." Es wurde dann "Started Snappy daemon ...
Started Dispatcher daemon for system/networkd. ..."
usw. gestartet. Derzeit habe ich Ubuntu 16.04 mit Bootloader am PC erfolgreich laufen und möchte nun updaten. Sollte ich vor dem Upgrade noch etwas beachten bei den BIOS Settings vom ASUS P8B75-M, um mir Folgeprobleme beim Update zu ersparren? Danke für Hilfestellung, Gruß Xunilu

Danke für die Info. Die Prüfsumme habe ich vor dem Brennen der DVD geprüft und ist alles OK. Die Fragestellung war: Was es mit dem ACPI Bios Error auf sich hat? Muss ich mit dem selben Fehler rechnen und vor Upgrade ignorieren oder zuvor im BIOS-Setings etwas ändern und dann upgraden? Danke für Hilfestellung, Gruß Xunilu

Hi. Hier im Forum gibts ja einige Threads zu ACPI Error. 😉 Versuch mal ACPI im BIOS auszuschalten. Ansonsten ACPI per Bootoption deaktivieren bevor du bootest. 😉

ACPI Errors sind Inkompatiblitäten mit dem jeweiligen Linux Kernel. Die Auswirkungen auf den laufenden Betrieb sind schwer abzuschätzen. Böse Geschichte! Ubuntu 16.04 ist eine LTS mit 5 Jahren Laufzeit. Google spuckt ja so Einiges zu diesem Brett aus. Prüfe, ob es neue Firmware für das Mainbord gibt. Dieses MB kann bestimmt mit einem Live-USB-Stick umgehen. Teste Xubuntu 19.04 64Bit, neuer Kernel neues Glück. ACPI deaktivieren hat keine Zukunft, einfach zu wichtig. Max. für die Installation ... wie gesagt böse ...

Startet das System trotz ACPI-Fehler durch? In den mneisten Fällen sind das leglich formelle Fehlermeldungen, die als Warnung zu verstehen sind. Sofern das System keine weiteren Auffälligkeiten zeigt, können diese Meldungen ggf. ignoriert werden. Hilfreich wäre es, wenn du die vollständige Fehlermeldung beibringen könntest, damit eine konkrete Recherche nach diesem - in der Regel sehr hardwarespezifischen Fehler - möglich ist. Das ACPI - egal ob im BIOS oder durch Bootoption - vollständig zu deaktivieren ist nicht empfehlenswert, weil essentiell für die Energieverwaltung. Eine Kernfunktion abzuschalten, ist für die Lösung des Problems nicht zielführend. Nachtrag: Wo hakel hier gerade von Inkompatibilitäten und bösen Geschichten schreibt, eines meiner Produktivsystem bootet seit 2013 erfolgreich mit der gleichen ACPI-Fehlermeldung. Ich sehe da also keinen Grund für allgemeine Panik.

Deswegen "böse", man weiß nie. Im übrigen hat er jetzt ein -hoffentlich- rund laufendes System. Das "Beste" ist, wenn es im laufenden Betrieb unmotiviert wackelt. Kann mit ACPI passieren. Früher waren ACPI Meldungen und Warnungen "üblich". Das hat sich entschieden verbessert. Bin mir wie gesagt bei diesem Brett nicht sicher ... P.S. von 16.04 zu 18.04 wurde viel bei systemd verändert. Vielleicht resultiert daher die lange Bootzeit und ACPI ist unschuldig. → "böse"

Ja, die DVD ist dann duchgestartet und der Ubuntu18-Desktob war verfügbar. Derzeit habe ich noch die Ubuntu 16.04 laufen und nicht upgedatet. Um den konkreten Fehler nach zu liefern eine bescheidene Frage: Wie und wo kann ich die Daten "auslesen" wenn ich den PC mit der DVD nochmals gestartet habe? Wo und wie zwischenspeichern damit die Daten beim nachfolgendem Neustarten von derzeitigen Ubuntu 16. für das Thema verfügbar sind?

Siehe Wiki-Artikel Logdateien und systemd/journalctl. Gewohnheitsgemäß würde ich die Datei /var/log/syslog ansteuern, aber /var/log/kern.log wäre wohl auch nicht verkehrt. Diese beiden Dateien wären reine Textdateien, die sich auch kopieren und auf ein anderes Laufwerken zwischenspeichern ließen. Alternativ kann man natürlich auch gleich den Webbrowser des Live-Systems benutzen, sich hier anmelden, und den Ausschnitt mit den betreffenden Meldungen hier im Codeblock veröffentlichen.

Der Konsens einer Internetrecherche wäre, dass diese Meldungen in der Regel auf eine schlechtes Zusammenspiel des Kernels mit fehlerhaften ACPI-Implementierungen im BIOS zurückzuführen sind. Gängigste Praxis wäre das Log Level via Bootoption (loglevel=3 ) herunterzuschrauben, wenn viele Fehlermeldungen den Startvorgang merklich verzögern. Alternativ könntest du nochmal Ubuntu 18.04.1 testen, weil das Installationsabbild dieses Point Releases noch ohne die LTS Enablement Stacks ausgeliefert wird und den originalen Bionic-Kernel verwendet statt dem neueren von Cosmic, also 18.10.

vorerst ein Danke! Ist schon sehr tiefe Materie - da muss man sich auskennen! Habe noch folgende Daten des derzeit laufenden Ubuntu bevor ich Update und die ACPI-Fehler relevant werden. -Ubuntu-PC:~$uname -a

soll ich zuvor ein BIOS-Update noch wagen oder eher nicht?
Derzeit läuft alles problemlos über Bootloader, dass Win7 und Ubuntu 16LTS.
Bin mir nicht sicher was ich tun soll? Ich teste mittels DVD zuvor noch die ubuntu-18.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso 2018-07-25 03:22 1.8G Version welche ich von http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/18.04.1/ geholt habe. Bin gespannt ob auch die ACPI-Fehler auftreten.

Löst ein BIOS-Update (derzeit Version von 2013, Update wäre das aktuellste 2014) dies ? oder "zerschieße" ich mir damit den Bootloader und das derzeit fehlerfrei laufende System auch noch? Soll ich auf Ubuntu 20.04 LTS warten, nach dem Motto "never change running system" oder wird voraussichtlich sich daran zukünftig auch nichts ändern? Danke für Meinung und Hilfestellung, Gruß xunilu

Hallo xunilu, In den BIOS/EFI Updates / Webseite des Herstellers sind Informationen, welche Fehler beseitigt wurden. Mit den Updates kannst du maximal nur dein Mainboard unbrauchbar machen, wenn es schief geht. Gruss Lidux

So schlimm wird es normalerweise nicht kommen. Sinnvoll ist es aber, sich vorher zu informieren, ob ggf. eine ältere Firmware-Version wieder aufgespielt werden kann, falls es schiefgeht. Einmal hatte ich selber diesen Fall. Da war es nützlich, dass ich die Firmware direkt über das UEFI-Setup einspielen konnte.
