OK. Vorne weg. Es ist alles mein Fehler. Das Kind (ich, 44M) wollte mal wieder spielen und a) ein brandneues LTS Ubuntu, b) die geile neue Grafikkarte c) zwei Monitore und d) natürlich opencl - und das alles gleichzeitig. Das sind ja gleich vier Dinge auf einmal...😉 Ich habe mich strikt so gut es ging an diese Anleitung hier gehalten. Bis zum Neustart lief eigentlich alles ganz super, sogar opencl.
Gut. Seit dem Neustart läuft natürlich gar nichts mehr. Das System fährt zumindest noch hoch, aber der X server will nicht verbinden. Soweit ich das Log lesen kann liegt das an einem Versionskonflikt in amdgpu. Das hat jetzt nicht soo viel Nutzinfo für mich, mir war schon klar, dass es wohl am Grafikkartentreiber liegt:

Frage 1: Bekomme ich den Videotreiber wieder zum Laufen ohne das Ras neu erfinden zu müssen (wenn ja, wie?) und
Frage 2: wenn 1 scheitert wie komme ich wieder zum werksseitigen amdgpu zurück?
Früher gab es immer eine xorg.conf, in der man den vesa Treiber einstellen konnte... Ich werde dann wohl reumütig auf die Veröffentlichung des propriertären 20.04. AMD Treibers warten.
