in meinem Rechner werkelt ein Motherboard ASUS B85M-E mit Intel Core i5 4440 PC1150. Der Intel Graphics Installer for Linux ist installiert, der Monitor könnte
1920 x 1080 Pixel darstellen. Wie ließe sich die Auflösung erhöhen ?

Für Intelkarten muss man nix installieren, entferne das am besten wieder vollständig.

/etc/X11/xorg.conf existiert nicht.
Wie entferne ich den "Intel Graphics Installer for Linux" ? Im Lubuntu Software-Center ist er nicht zu finden.

Er bekommt keinen EDID Satz vom Monitor. Ursache könnte eine fehlende Signalleitung im Kabel oder auch schlicht starke Störeinflüsse aus der Umgebung sein (zB zu langes Kabel oder zu schlechte Isolierung). Beachte: Es ist absolut keine gute Idee, FullHD über VGA zu einem Flachbildschirm zu quetschen - die drei Sachen stehen gewissermaßen im Widerspruch. Nutze stets DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort wenn du kannst!

Von selber kommt der nicht auf den Rechner, wie hast du ihn denn installiert? Beziehungsweise, wo hast du gelesen, dass der installiert ist?

Der Rechner war mit VGA über einen alten KVM-Switch angebunden - mittels DVI-Kabel funktioniert die Bildschirmauflösung auf Anhieb. @stfischr: Lubuntu muß den "Intel Graphics Installer for Linux" installiert haben - er findet sich unter Einstellungen - Intel Graphics Installer for Linux Danke an Alle !
