salve, es handelt sich um ubuntu 8.04.1 mit 64bit-erweiterung, daß in win xp eingebettet ist (nfts parition), und die bootdauer beträgt bis zum login bildschirm ca 5 minuten ☹ was kann ich machen, daß ich auf windows xp niveau (ca 15-20 sec) runter komme? es handelt sich um einen relativ neuen rechner, mit 2 intel dualcore prozessoren, 2gb ram, und zwei sata hd's (seagate st380815as; samsung hd161hj). an der 64bit variante liegt es nicht, die 32bit variante benötigt genau so lange... wie kann ich diesen mißstand abstellen? wer weiß rat?
so macht die sache keinen spaß... ☹ gruß

Füge zu den Bootoptionen in der /boot/grub/menu.lst die Bootoption nosplash hinzu. Dann kannst Du beim booten sehen, welcher Prozeß denn wohl den Ärger verurscaht.

ok, hab ich gemacht....wo finde ich das ergbnis? *blödfrag* damit ich das noch mal verdeutliche, 5 minuten von der beriebssystemauswahl bis zum anmelde bildschirm.

Also, wenn Du die Option gesetzt hast, dann siehst Du beim Booten, was gerade gestartet wird, bzw. was gerade gemacht wird. Da sollte es dann ja bei einem Dienst besonders lange dauern, z.B. daß bei jedem Start die Festplatten gecheckt werden oder so. Sollte Dir eigentlich auffallen, an welcher Stelle der Bootprozeß so lange braucht. Es gibt auch ein Programm, welches Dir grafisch anzeigt, welcher Dienst wie lange beim Booten braucht, nur leider hab ich den Namen vergessen. Wenn Du hier im Forum nach "boot lange" suchst findest Du diverse Artikel. Hast Du die schonmal durchgeschaut? Da findet sich bestimmt auch der ein oder andere brauchbare Lösungsansatz.

dann sollte man auch an diesem ort nachsehen...und siehe da...es ist auch tatsächlich dort... mir kommt es so vor, wie wenn die hd keine daten raus rücke würde...

als vergleich hier noch mal ein chart, von meinem zweiten rechner, einer alten mühle mit einem amd sempron 2400+, 1,5 gb ram kann mir jemand erklären, wo der unterschied in der bootdauer her kommt?

nun, { DRDY ERR } weist leider auf einen Festplattenfehler
hin. Mein Beileid (das selbe passiert mir gerade ☹ )
Ich hoffe, Du kannst, wenn Du von der CD bootest noch Daten
auf eine CD oder DVD brennen. mfG, Mouse

beileid brauchts nicht für mich...war nämlich der rechner von meinem bruder 😈 die frage ist, wo der fehler liegt, ob die installation fehlerhaft war, oder die hdd einen "schlag" hat...win xp läuft nämlich relativ gut, braucht aber für mein verstäntnis zu lange fürs booten. lg ☺
