hallo in die Runde,

diese Fehlermeldung erhalte ich,

mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)'
Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' exists!
mate-vm-22@matevm22-VirtualBox:~$ 

wenn ich das ausführen will:

mysqladmin -u BENUTZERNAME -p password WUNSCHPASSWORT # mit eigenen Namen versehen.

die erzeugte Datei heiß aber (gelb markiert)

  • Wie ist das entstanden?

  • Kann ich das vllt einfach umbenennen?

Gebe doch einfach den anderen Socket an: https://linux.die.net/man/1/mysqladmin --socket=path, -S path

Hallo DJKUhpisse,

leider hat sich nichts groß verändert oder ich habe deinen Hilflink falsch genutzt.

root@matevm22-VirtualBox:/# mysqladmin -V

Ergibt den gleichen Fehler

Bei mir ist das gelb markierte installiert. Ein andrer Dateiname als in der Meldung angegeben.

Der Befehl mysqladmin --socket=/var/run/mysqld/mysqlx.sock startet die Man-Page und der Passwordbefehl mysqladmin password <passwort-meins> bringt den gleichen Fehler.
