ich hatte nach Upgrade von 14.04 LTs, aber auch nach einer Neuinstallation keinen Sound. Diverse Einstellungen und Änderungen in der Konfiguration brachten keinen nachhaltigen Erfolg. Meine Hardware:

geholfen hat mir, Eingabe im Terminal:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev/alsa-daily sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install oem-audio-hda-daily-dkms
nach der nächsten Softwareaktualisierung hatte ich perfekten Sound.
