Hallo, ich habe ein Problem.
Ich möchte mein Ubuntu 16.04 LTS über 18.04 LTS auf 20.04 LTS upgraden. Soweit ist mir auch klar wie das funktioniert, doch wenn ich »sudo update-manager -d« eingebe kommt am Ende statt einer Übersicht der verfügbaren Aktualisierungen die Meldung „Das Herunterladen von Informationen zu Software-Paketquellen ist gescheitert“. Darauf habe ich den Server für die Aktualisierungen mehrmals gewechselt, auch auf den „Haupt-Server“, das Problem blieb aber bestehen.
Hoffe jemand kann mir weiterhelfen, ich habe die Vermutung dass die Release-Datei abhanden gekommen ist. Wenn ich auf Details gehe spuckt er das aus :

Bevor Du diesen Plan umsetzt: Sichere Deine wichtigen Daten. Sichere Deine wichtigen Daten noch einmal. Entferne alle fremden Softwarequellen und beschränke Dich auf die offiziellen Quellen von Ubuntu. Update/upgrade das 16.04-System auf den aktuellen Stand (wohl 16.04.6). Entferne (deinstalliere) alle Software, die jetzt nicht aktuell oder erkennbar veraltet ist.

Die hier fehlerhafte Quelle ist ja schon uralt und seit Ewigkeiten nicht mehr aktualisiert und auf neue Versionen portiert worden.
Da man sich hier nie um die Systempflege gekümmert hat ist die Frage, ob es nicht sinnvoller wäre, eine Neuinstallation zu machen, auch aus dem Gesichtspunkt der Umstellung der Oberfläche von Unity auf GNOME.

Hallo Keller12345, Herzlich Willkommen auf Ubuntuusers. Da kann ich DJKUhpisse nur zustimmen .... wegen Zeitersparnis und geringerer Fehleranfälligkeit. PS: Hersteller, Typ und Bezeichnung des Rechners, sowie CPU, Größe Arbeitsspeicher, Grafikkarte / chip, EFI oder BIOS waren hilfreich. Gruss Lidux

Dell Optiplex 760, Dual-Core 2,5 Ghz, 4GB RAM, zur Grafikkarte weiß ich nichts.

Ist das die vollständige Liste Deiner Softwarequellen? Ich frage, weil ich die für ein Distributions-Upgrade erforderlichen offiziellen Quellen von Ubuntu vermisse. Vielleicht habe ich sie im ppa-Dschungel übersehen. Es ist nicht ganz ausgeschlossen, dass mit diesen Quellen Dein Upgrade-Plan gelingt. Aber es ist etwas wahrscheinlicher, dass Du am Wochenende im Lotto 6 Richtige hast.

Hallo Keller12345, Na, die Fremdquellen überschlagen sich ja ...... Probiere es mal mit: dpkg -l | grep miro aus. Mit so einer Hardware benutzt man kein Ubuntu mehr, vielleicht ist es besser du nimmst ein Xubuntu, Lubuntu oder das "grüne" Ubuntu Mate. Probiere letzteres mal als Live Version aus ..... vielleicht gefällt es dir. Gruss Lidux

Dann hat es funktioniert und es ist kein Paket installiert, das den Namensbestandteil miro hat. Siehe dpkg und grep...

Mit so einer Hardware benutzt man kein Ubuntu mehr, vielleicht ist es besser du nimmst ein Xubuntu, Lubuntu oder das "grüne" Ubuntu Mate. Probiere letzteres mal als Live Version aus ..... vielleicht gefällt es dir.
Bislang läuft Ubuntu völlig flüssig und die Systemanforderungen für 20.04 LTS sind erfüllt
