Moin,

mache doch mal ein neues Thema auf: Habe mir, leider ohne viel nachzudenken, einen Epson ET4700 gekauft. Nun sitze ich da und kann nicht Drucken und auch nicht Scannen, da es anscheinend keinen passenden Treiber dafür gibt. Kann mir da jemand weiterhelfen ob ich den trotzdem irgendwie zum Laufen bekomme? Habe was von Turboprint gelesen. Kostet aber wohl auch einiges. Oder gibts da ne einfache Lösung?

Hallo Gebhard,

das gleiche Modell läuft auf diesem System einwandfrei. Bei Epson auf der richtigen Supportseite gibt's den Scannertreiber. Der Druckertreiber vom System ist ausreichend - allerdings solltest Du von Ubuntu MATE mindestens auf die LTS-Version 20.04 upgraden. 18.04 MATE hat seine sichere Lebensdauer überschritten.

Alles kar, danke. Hab verschiedene USB-Anschlüsse am Rechner probiert. Nu gehts.

So, noch ne Frage:

Drucken funzt einwandfrei. Scannen funktioniert nicht. Habe mir von der Epson-Seite den Imagescanner runter geladen und installiert. Weder Simple Scan noch der neue Image Scan finden den Scanner. Da gibts doch bestimmt einen Trick, oder?

Der Imagescan ist nicht der Richtige! Bei dir muss er Epsonscan2 heißen 😉
