Hallo, Ich habe das Problem, dass mein Drucker (Canon mp540) an dem neuen Rechner mit besserer Hardware sehr viel langsamer druckt als an meinem alten Laptop. Der Druck beginnt erst sofort aber nach der halben Seite kommt er ins Stocken und brauch gefühlte 5 min. Auf beiden Rechnern ist das gleiche Ubuntu, die gleiche Cups Version und die gleichen Drucker Treiber installiert. Selbst das USB Kabel ist das gleiche. Ich weiß einfach nicht mehr wohl Nachricht noch suchen soll. Vielen Dank im Voraus

Willkommen im Forum ☺ Lese mal hier https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/CUPS/#Drucker-pausiert-willkuerlich vielleicht hilft es bei der Lösung. Du kannst dir auch mal die Cups.log ansehen.Im Terminal eingeben grep -i error /var/log/cups/error_log Schalte auf jeden Fall mal den Debug Modus ein cupsctl --debug-logging

Vielen Dank für deine Antwort. den Link von dir hatte ich auch schon gelesen. Nur leider ohne Erfolg, denn tlp oder irgend ein ähnliches Tool ist bei mir nicht Installiert. ich habe jetzt auf deinen Rat hin aktiviert und mir die Logdatei von cups angesehen. So lange, wie er normal Druckt kommt in regelmäsigen abständen solche Einträge:

Dieser Eintrag kommt dann gefühlte 1000 mal pro Sekunde, vielleicht auch noch öfter. (also die Logdatei hat nach diesem einen Ausdruck über 12,6 Millionen Zeilen und hat gEdit zum Absturz gebracht als er dann 6GB RAM brauchte um die Datei auszulesen, aber egal...) was sagt mir nun dieses "Read 211 bytes of back-channel data..." Steckt der Drucker an USB2 oder USB3 oder ein USB-Hub?

Er steckt an USB2. Habe es aber auch schon an USB3 probiert, ohne Veränderung. Edit: Kurzes Update! Da ich die Druckertreiber nur ein 32 Bit Version habe und Ubuntu als 64 Bit Version installiert ist, hatte ich die Befürchtung dass es daran liegt. Obwohl ich vorher auch die gutenprint-Treiber verwendet hatte und die genau das gleiche Problem hatten. Jedenfalls habe ich ubuntu als minimalversion in 32bit nur mit der Konsole installiert und danach noch Cups und meine 32bit Treiber nachinstalliert. Jedoch hat es auch mit 32 bit immernoch genau das gleiche Problem gegeben. Es dauert nach der ersten halben Seite ewig, bis die zweite hälfte fertig ist. Bevor ich dann auf Arbeit musste habe ich diese Platte dann mal schnell in einen alten powerMac geschmissen (ich glaube das war der erste der mit Intel-Prozessoren raus kam). Startete sofort ohne Probleme, außer das das Netzwerk nicht automatisch erkannt wurde, aber das bräuchte ich nicht! Schnell mit "lp -d mp540 Bild.jpg" einen Druck ausgelöst und genauso schnell war die Seite auch gedrückt! Also kann es doch nur mit dem Prozessor (Intel i5 4460) oder mit dem mainboard (gigabyte ga z97p d3) ein Problem geben. Aber welches? An sich funktionieren ja alle usb-Anschlüsse. Sowohl usb2 als auch usb3.

Die CPU und das Board würde ich Ausschließen.Ist der Microcde Installiert? sudo apt-get install intel-microcode Ansonsen (Habe auch einen Canon Drucker) empfehle ich Turboprint http://www.turboprint.de/ kannst es ja mal Testen (30 Tage kostenlos)

Das mit dem Microcode werde ich mal testen. Aber kann es nicht vielleicht sein, dass ich evtl. noch irgendwas im bios ändern muss? Ob Turboprint was ist, weiß ich noch nicht. Ich muss direkt aus einem Python-script einen Druck auslösen. Das geht mit Cups sehr gut. Vielen Dank!

Teste sonst mal den usblp Treiber zu Blacklisten sudo -H gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklistusblp.conf dort eintragen blacklist usblp Klemme den Drucker dann ab,danach sudo modprobe -r usblp Stecke ihn dann wieder an und Probiere.
