Hallo zusammen

Ich habe mir Ubuntu 24.04 LTS neben Windows 11 auf meinem Notebook installiert. Unter anderem funktioniert die Webcam nicht.

Ich hoffe das Thema ist hier richtig. Unter "Welches Thema gehört wohin" steht das Webcams hier her gehören. Hier unter "Welche Themen gehören hier her und welche nicht?" stehen Webcams nicht.

Die Kamera nennt sich übrigens "HP True Vision 5MP" falls das weiter hlft

Also mit lsusb wird sie schonma nicht erkannt. Bei lspci seh ich auch nix.

Schau mal ob inxi sie findet.

Dazu inxi nachinstallieren 

sudo apt install inxi

Und uns dann im Codeblock die Ausgabe von 

inxi -Fz

zeigen.

Mit inxi wieder was neues kennen gelernt. Kannte bisher nur lspci und lsusb. Ich sehe allerdings nichts was ich (DAU) als Kamera erkennen würde.

Also wenn würde die Cam mit unter Graphics als Device stehen. Tut se aber nicht. Heisst sie wird Hardwaremäßig garnicht erkannt. Das war wohl auch schon unter 22.04 so wenn man mal bisl die Suchmaschine des Vertrauens befragt.

Wenn nicht noch jemand anderes irgendeine schlaue Idee hat wirds mit der Cam wohl nix. ☹

Die Webcam ist unter Windows aktiviert und läuft? Wenn ja, dann könnte man noch schauen, ob /dev/video* Gerätedateien erstellt wurden - wenn da auch nichts ist, ist wohl Ende Gelände.

So'n teures Teil und dann keine Linux-unterstützte Hardware? Das hat sich HP offenbar teuer bezahlen lassen ...

Ja, wenn ich Windows starte läuft die Webcam.

UNter Ubuntu sagt "Kamera" "No Camera Found". Cheese sagt "Ein Fehler ist beim Abspielen des Videosignals aufgetreten".

Ich bin mal in den Ordner /dev gegangen und habe mir die Dateien auflisten lassen

Sag mal, ist das ein Notebook oder ein Tesla?? Da werden 8 Video-Gerätedateien aufgelistet, /dev/video0 bis /dev/video7. Das können jetzt auch Analog-TV-Schnittstellen sein, aber eine Videokamera könnte schon dabei sein. Aber nein, auch ich habe keine Hinweise in den Hardware-Auflistungen gefunden, dass da eine Kamera verbaut wäre.

Schick mal bitte ein 

dmesg | grep video

Vielleicht fällt da was auf. und noch ein 

dmesg | grep -i cam

hinterher (Holzhackermethode: Wenn irgendwas mit 'Camera' auftaucht, sollte es ausgegeben werden)

Nun, wir sind nun in der Reengineer Phase: Du könntest die einzelnen Video-Gerätedateien eine nach der anderen mal ausprobieren und schauen, ob bei einer dieser Fehler nicht kommt, sondern ein Bild stattdessen.

  • cheese aufrufen → drei waagerechte Linien-Icon (sog. 'Burger') → Einstellungen → Kamera → Kamera wählen: Was wird hier angeboten?

  • cheese im Terminal aufrufen für jede Video-Gerätedatei einzeln: Was ist erfolgreich?

cheese -d /dev/video0
cheese -d /dev/video1
...

Es werden 8 Geräte angeboten. Alle nennen sich "ipu6" das ändern im Menü hilft nicht (Siehe Bild im Anhang)

Erster Eintrag ist interessant. (Zweite Zeile ist die Grafikkarte)

Danke auch für den Screenshot, immerhin bietet sich diese ipu6 8 mal an, das passt ins Bild. Was auch immer das Intel IPU6 auch sein mag ...

Das läuft wohl auf einen klassischen Fall von zu neuer Hardware hinaus: Der Treiber muss noch entwickelt werden, hier gibt es jedenfalls schon einen Ansatz.

Ich hab in der Zwischenzeit versucht alle Videoquellen vom Terminal aus in Cheese zu öffenen. Die Fehlermeldungen sehen immer sehr ähnlich aus:

Hab ich gemacht, die neueste Version war wohl schon installiert:

intel-ipu6-dkms ist schon die neueste Version (0~git202406240945.aecec2aa-0ubuntu1~24.04.1).

Das könnte die Lösung sein: Installation der ipu6 Module inkl. aller Abhängigkeiten 

sudo apt install intel-ipu6-dkms
