Ich habe ein DVD-USB-03 von gembird. Schliesse das Gerät an, lege eine Audio-CD ein, kommt die Meldung "Device is not mountable". Bei Versuch, eine andere CD einzulegen, passiert gar nichts. Was mache ich falsch? Unter Win10 am selben Laptop kann ich DVDs lesen ... |

Statt keinerlei verwertbare Informationen zu geben könntest du ja mal z. B. die Ausgabe von sudo dmesg mit angeschlossenem externen Laufwerk posten. |

Mein alter mobiler Samsung DVD-Brenner braucht zwei USB-Anschlüsse gleichzeitig um genug Strom zu bekommen. Schließt man das Gerät nur mit einem USB-Strang an, kann die CD oder DVD nicht auf genug Drehzahl gebracht werden und das ganze USB-Gerät klinkt sich dann vom System aus. Es wird dann wieder neu erkannt und das böse Spiel beginnt von vorne. Aber mit genug Stromversorgung lässt sich mit dem alten mobilen Samsung DVD-Brenner die alte Lords of Everquest Spiele-CD-Rom einhängen. Klar, Audio-CDs lassen sich nicht einhängen, sie haben ja auch kein Dateisystem das dies ermöglichen soll. |

Vielleicht nochmal zur Klarheit, obwohl es andere auch schon geschrieben haben: Gemountet werden nicht Geräte (im Wortsinn), sondern Ressourcen (Datenquellen) wie beispielsweise Dateisysteme. Insofern ist das Wort „Device“ etwas irreführend. Eine Audio-CD enthält aber kein Dateisystem, sondern einen kontinuierlichen Datenstrom mit Sprungmarken. Deshalb kann sie prinzipiell nicht gemountet werden. Windows-Systeme stellen die Sprungmarken als Dateien mit der Extension .cda dar und sorgen damit für zusätzliche Verwirrung. Aber an deren Größe sieht man schon, dass das nie und nimmer das tatsächliche Audiomaterial ist. Aber dein Problem ist ein anderes, wenn auch Daten-CDs nicht gehen. Nur zum Verständnis, wieso eine Audio-CD kein geeignetes Testmaterial ist. – Ist das Laufwerk denn mit dem werkseitig mitgelieferten Kabel an zwei separat stromversorgte USB-Löcher angeschlossen, also beide direkt am Rechner sitzend? (Beide an einen USB-Hub funktioniert nicht, wenn der seinerseits nur aus einer einzigen Buchse versorgt wird!) Optischen Laufwerken reicht die elektrische Leistung aus einer einzigen Buchse nicht zum Anlaufen, jedenfalls nicht bei USB-A (ob es bei einer direkten USB-C-Verbindung geht, ist mir nicht bekannt, USB-C kann ja deutlich mehr Strom liefern). --ks |

Zwar richtig, aber auch Audio CDs lassen sich sich problemlos als ISO-9660-Dateisystem einbinden. Das geschieht sogar automatisch. Voraussetzungen:
