Ich habe schon lange gefragt warum mein Ubuntu manchmal hängt. Jetzt habe ich es herausgefunden:

1. Computer einschalten und Grub abwarten
2. Pfeil nach oben gedrückt halten (repeat-Funktion)
3. Mit Pfeil nach oben den Eintrag VOR dem Ersten anwählen. Einfach so, passiert ja nix^^
4. Return drücken
5. Ubuntu startet (wie angewählt und gewollt) zu 50% und hängt
6. alt+strg+entf -> neustart

Was habe ich: Grub2 1.98-1ubutu7 Ubuntu 10.04 Standardinstallation i386

Grub Einträge: 1-7 Ubuntu (gefühltes halbes dutzend) Suse11.0 Win XP (*schäm*)

Rechner: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ 2 GiB Speicher Sata- und IDE-Platten gemischt

Hab nur ich diesen Bug? Gibt es einen Workaround, ausser falsche Tasten vermeiden? Vermeindlichen Bug schon gemeldet? Fragen über Fragen...

Diese Fehlerquelle und Lage deutet schon mal darauf hin, dass das nichts mit GRUB 2 zu tun hat!!

Trotzdem - was soll das denn nun aussagen:

Grub Einträge: 1-7 Ubuntu (gefühltes halbes dutzend)....

Wenn schon geholfen werden soll, dann Butter bei die Fische, wie man bei uns so sagt. Wenn Du mehr als zwei unterschiedliche Ubuntu-Kernel dabei hast, dann ist

• Kernel deinstallieren

angesagt. So und nun zu der etwas unorthodoxen Vorgehensweise beim Start des Computers - hier würde ich jetzt mal Lesen anbieten:

• GRUB 2/Konfiguration

normalerweise reicht es aus, die Shift-Taste gedrückt zu halten, damit das Menü sichtbar wird, man kann es aber auch entsprechend einrichten.
