Bashverlauf aktualisiert sich nicht mehr und Einstellungen fehlen nach Neustart

Ich habe nun seit längerer Zeit das Problem, dass sich mein Bash-Verlauf nicht mehr nach einem Neustart aktualisiert, sondern immer die gleichen drei alten Befehle enthält. Außerdem kann ich neue ssh-Keys immer nur für eine Sitzung importieren, die Xmodmap setzt sich jedesmal auf den damaligen Stand zurück und Compiz startet auch nicht mit meiner Sitzung. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass die Antwort offensichtlich sein müsste, aber irgendwie komme und komme ich nicht drauf -_- Softwareseitig benutze ich ein stets aktuell gepatchtes kUbuntu mit standard Terminal-Emulator. Danke schonmal für eure Hilfe ☺

Könnte fast wetten, du hast dir mal die Berechtigungen für besagte Dateien versaut und die gehören jetzt root oder so. 😉

Schlimmer noch → in der Ausgabe fehlt die .bash_history ganz!

@trick 17: Das ist so beabsichtigt, hatte die Datei verschoben, um zu testen ob es an der liegt. Sie wird bei den nächsten Eingaben einfach wieder hergestellt.

Jetzt das Interessante: Obwohl ich diese Datei verschoben habe taucht wieder die alte History auf...

Dieser Teil ist klar: Wenn Du ein Terminal startest (genauer: Wenn Du eine bash startest), dann wird von der bash die Datei .bash_history eingelesen und im Speicher um die jeweiligen Befehle erweitert. Erst beim Beenden der bash wird die Datei wieder gespeichert.

Das bedeutet auch: Sind mehrere shells offen, so "gewinnt" die, die zuletzt geschlossen wird.

Ich fürchte aber, dass damit noch nicht alle Effekte erklärt werden können, oder?

Hattest du auch eine .bashrc im Homeordner und gibt es dort eine Stelle 

shopt -s histappend

?
