Hallo zusammen,
kann man eine eigentlich ausgemusterte SSD als Betriebssystem-Laufwerk für einen NAS-Server im LAN verwenden, oder ist das keine gute Idee?
Das NAS soll 3 HDDs (zunächst je 4TB in RAID-5) haben und aus Kostengründen möchte ich einen ausgemusterten Desktop-PC verwenden.
Jetzt habe ich noch eine alte SSD die nicht mehr ganz so frisch ist (SMART s.u.).
Der Hintergrund meiner Frage ist, wie werden Daten die über das Netzwerk rein kommen eigentlich gespeichert. "Sehen" Daten, die aus dem Netzwerk kommen jemals die System-SSD?
Ich stelle mir ganz naiv vor, so ein Bytestrom kommt über die Netzwerkkarte beim Server an und wird direkt von der CPU (über den RAM?) umgeleitet und auf der HDD abgelegt. Stimmt das so, oder hat jemand einen Hinweis auf eine Quelle, wo das detaillierter beschrieben wird?
Wenn es so wäre, bliebe natürlich immer noch die Möglichkeit, dass die sterbende SSD im Betriebssystem zu Fehlern führt und daher die Daten dann fehlerhaft weiterleitet und nach und nach Daten auf den HDDs korrumpiert. Möglicherweise auch ohne das ich es direkt bemerke, oder?
Ich vermute also es ist keine so gute Idee... aber ich bin gespannt auf weitere Meinungen.
