Hallo,

trotz Hilfe in der Energieverwaltung, uswsusp und s2ram klappt bei mir "Ruhezustand" nicht: wenn ich "Ruhezustand" aktiviere, wird zwar der Bildschirm dunkel, aber der PC bleibt an (Kontrollleuchte und Ventilatorgeräusch): läßt sich dann leider nicht durch Drücken einer Taste (oder des Auschaltknopfes am PC) wieder aktivieren. Stattdessen muss ich erst einmal den Resetknopf am PC drücken, Ubuntu startet nach dem Booten wieder, aber ohne Anmeldebildschirm, Bildschirm wird wieder dunkel; nach dem zweiten Reset klappt's dann meist mit dem Anmeldebildschirm. Ähnlich ist es, wenn der PC nach einiger Zeit und Nichtbenutzung unter Ubuntu von selbst in den "Ruhezustand" geht: Problem wie oben. Unter Windows XP Home klappt "Standby" aber ohne Probleme auf demselben PC. Folgendes habe ich ausprobiert, zuerst Systeminformationen, dann die Infos:

Ubuntu: 10.04, Kernel Linux 2.6.32-38-generic
Hardware: Speicher 1002,4 MiB
Prozessor: AMD Athlon(TM) XP1700+
Systemstatus: Verfügbarer Speicherplatz 10,3 GiB

Unter System > Einstellungen > Energieverwaltung habe ich alle möglichen Kombinationen durchprobiert, ohne Erfolg

Zunächst habe ich das Paket uswsusp installiert, danach:

Nun, hier ist der "complete output". Hilft mir auch nicht weiter.

Kann mir hier jemand bitte helfen, mit Ubuntu Lucid auf einem ganz normalen Desktop PC die Funktion "Standby" so wie in Windows zu aktivieren? Und zwar auf eine Art und Weise wie Ubuntu auf http://www.ubuntu.com/ verspricht "Fast, secure and stylishly simple.."?

An der Swap Partition kann's ja nicht liegen, die ist etwas größer als RAM:

RAM:

 Hardware: Speicher 1002,4 MiB = 1051092582,4 bytes

SWAP:

sudo parted /dev/sda print
Nummer  Anfang  Ende    Größe   Typ       Dateisystem     
 5      61,5GB  62,5GB  1069MB  logical   linux-swap(v1), 1069 MB = 1069000000 bytes

Ich bin nicht der Einzige, der das Problem hat. Auf http://ubuntuforums.org/ gibt's einen 21 Seiten (!) langen Thread darüber, und das Problem scheint immer noch nicht für alle gelöst zu sein, egal ob Laptop oder Desktop User. Zwei Workarounds darin habe ich ausprobiert, ohne Erfolg:

Thanks, Anschuz, for this little but important detail. This worked out for me now!

So here is how it works (hopefully) for everybody:
1. Go to System -> Preferences -> Appearance
2. Choose Tab "Visual Effects"
3. Make sure option "None" is chosen, if not choose it
4. Change to "Extra", this makes the system searching for drivers automatically
5. Change back to the configuration you prefer

Hat bei mir (und anderen Postern) nichts gebracht

Good news though as there is a simple fix to this bug for 10.10, documented in the Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat release notes.

this "might" work with 10.04 (i did not try)

When the XHCI module is loaded for USB 3.0 operation the system cannot suspend. Manually unloading XHCI will allow suspend to complete normally. To avoid future suspend problems, the workaround is to add SUSPEND_MODULES="xhci-hcd" to /etc/pm/config.d/unload_module then the system can suspend normally. ( 522998 )

Please note: this fix only seems to work when using the closed source nVidia drivers. Using the open source nouveau drivers gives a black screen when awoke from suspend or hibernate.


Implementing the fix - create a new configuration file

1. Open at terminal window Applications > Accessories > Terminal

2. Enter the following command into the terminal window:

gksudo gedit /etc/pm/config.d/unload_module

3. In the editor window that pops up, paste the following text and save the new file.

SUSPEND_MODULES="xhci-hcd"


That's it ! Suspend and hibernate should now work as normal for some people. Good luck.

Bei einem 10.04 User hat's geklappt, bei mir nicht. Na ja, ich bin zu wenig "ubuntuwise", verstehe noch nicht mal den genauen Unterschied zwischen "closed source nVidia drivers" und "open source nouveau drivers" ☹

Aber vielleicht hat hier jemand doch einen Tipp wie man zu einem ordentlichen "Ruhezustand" kommt?
