Das Ardour viel kann ist schön aber sollte ein Prog nicht wenigstens out of the box erstmal gehen?

wieder eine leider typische Linux Erfahrung : nach 3 h lesen und probieren immer noch ergebnislos. Es zappelt nun immerhin am Masterregler aber die Boxen schweigen. Habe mir "Elementarer Signalverlauf" durch gelesen und auch viel in englisch gegoogelt aber bleibe ratlos warum ich nix höre. Leider ist Ardour das einzige Prog was mir in Frage kommt. Auf Jack habe ich keine Lust, aber es soll ja nun mit ALSA gehen - oder doch nicht ?

Habe selbst eine Lösung gefunden : Wenn ich einen neuen Benutzer anlege und Ardour mit diesem Starte geht es. Habe mich erinnert dass das vor 2 Jahren schon mal die einzige Lösung war Skype zu nutzen ohne sich das Audio System abzuschiessen. Skype habe ich nun dank Zoom genzlich verbannt und mit Ardour komme ich mit dem leichten Umweg über einen andren user klar.

Falls es noch mal haken sollte: Wenn ich Ardour unter ALSA benutzt habe, ließen sich die Audio- und MIDI-Strippen über das Menü "Fenster > Audio-Verbindungen" bzw. " > MIDI-Verbindungen" ziehen. Speziell auch was den Ausgang der Masterschiene anging.

Resultierte das vorherige Problem evtl. daraus, daß Du als Nutzer nicht Mitglied der Gruppe "audio" warst, der neue Nutzer es aber ist? Nur so eine Idee...

nein auch das hatte ich in meinen 3 h getan ich habe auch Arduor als sodo ausgeführt usw.... ich verstehe es nicht aber hoffe das die Zukunft die Sache sich weiterentwickeln lässt. Immerhin ardour sah bis V.2 abrund hässlich aus, das wurde nun deulich verbessert. Mit protools oder Samplitude kann es nicht mithalten was den workflow angeht aber naja .... So etwas simples wie die beiden Stereospuren übereinader zu klappen und eine halbierte Wellenform anzuzeigen vermisse ich sehr, wer braucht denn die + und - einer Tonwelle ?

Aber mal zurück zum Problem, woran kann es denn liegen das es unter den anderen user geht ? Gibt es so was wie auf werkseinstellungen zurück setzten ? Falls ich was verklickt habe und Ardour hats gescheichert ? Das Fenser Audio-Verbindungen" verstehe ich nicht wirklich, alles was ich da hinbekomme ist ein lautes Pfeifen ....

Ich auch nicht 😉. Es geht über das Menü "Bearbeiten > Globale Einstellungen > Erscheinungsbild > Editor" und dort "Wellenform Anzeigeart" von "Traditionell" auf "Rektifiziert" umschalten.

Samplitude mit den Spurzahl- und Dengelmöglichkeiten von Ardour kostet dann halt einige Hundert Ocken 😉. (Die einstigen fast kostenlosen Samplitude Silver-Edition konnten da jedenfalls hinten und vorne nicht mithalten.)

Ich bin auch von Samplitude auf Ardour umgestiegen (als mein Haupt-Windows-Rechner verratzte) - klar ist das erst mal eine Umstellung. Aber jede DAW hat ihr eigenes Procedere. Was die Optik angeht - Geschmackssache. Mir haben die Farben bei Samplitude 7 wesentlch besser gefallen als das Grauingrau bei Samplitude 8. Aber man gewöhnt sich an allem, auch am Dativ. Als ich jetzt mal wieder umgekehrt Sachen mit Samplitude gemacht habe, mußte ich erst mal wieder zurück-denken, am Anfang bin ich dauernd bei Tastaturkommandos von Ardour gelandet 🤣.

Generell ist die Ardour-4-Version zwar soweit ok, aber strenggenommen seit längerem überholt (als Vorabversion ist schon Ardour 6 verfügbar). Ich geh mal davon aus, daß Ubuntu 18.04 endlich Ardour 5 dabei hat.

Falls Du ausgiebiger Audiobearbeitung machen willst, würde sich evtl. LibraZiK oder AVLinux als Parallelsystem für den Zweck lohnen. Besonders LibraZiK läuft da viel runder als sämtliche *buntus.
