Morgen zusammen, ich habe folgendes Problem: Die Anzeige von meinem Hauptbildschirm von meinem Laptop funktioniert 1a, doch leider wird mir auf meinen beiden angeschlossenen Bildschirmen (1x via HDMI und 1x über eine Dockingstation mit USB-C Anschluss) zwar der Mauszeiger angezeigt, aber nicht mehr. Ich habe in verschiedenen Foren schon verschiedene Versuche gestartet, die Bildschirme ans laufen zu bekommen, doch leider ohne Erfolg. Im GRUB habe ich beim Laden auch schon das quiet splash durch nomodeset und nomplymouth ersetzt, doch auch ohne Erfolg. Neben Ubuntu 20.04 LTS betreibe ich auf dem Laptop auch Windows 10, wo ich keine Probleme habe. Wenn ich | lspci -nnk | grep -i VGA -A2

Bei dem was ich bisher gelesen habe, scheint s des öfteren mal Probleme mit den NVIDIA-Grafikkarten bei Ubuntu zu geben. Ich bin mir zudem nicht sicher, ob ich aktuell den richtigen Kernel Driver verwende, oder ob ich da einen anderen nutzen muss. Kann mir wer bei meinem Problem weiterhelfen, so dass ich meine beiden Bildschirme betrieben bekomme und mir ggf. eine Anleitung dazu gebe, da meine Erfahrung mit Ubuntu noch recht frisch ist. Danke sehr ☺.

Installiere den Nvidia Original Treiber und nutze den Power Modus. https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Grafikkarten/Nvidia/ https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Einsteiger/ Ob dein Konstrukt kompatibel, ist kann ich nicht sagen. Laptop/Dock Bezeichnung bitte ... P.S. mit nouveau kannst du deine moderne Karte eh nicht nutzen. Keine Ahnung, ob du das brauchst. Hybrid/Optimus

Bei meinem Gerät handel es sich um ein: Lenovo ThinkPad
Intel® Core™ i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz × 12 Die Dockingstation kommt von Fitfort und hat die Bezeichnung:
USB Type-C Hub Pro
UCN 3273 Ich habe jetzt unter Softwareaktualisierung –> Zusätzliche Treiber –> NVIDIA Corporation den 440er Treiber ausgewählt, der als propritär und getestet gekennzeichnet ist.
Nun kann ich die beiden angeschlossenen Bildschirme gar nicht mehr nutzen und diese wurden mir auch nicht angezeigt, als ich im Anmeldebildschirm war. Wenn ich jetzt unter Info bei den Einstellungen schaue, wird mir auch nur die interne Grafikkarte angezeigt: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 630 (CFL GT2) Das heißt für mich, dass ich auf eine Hybridlösung wechseln muss? Edit:
Dafür funktioniert jetzt bei mir das Nvidia Setting, wo ich aber auch nicht großartig viele Einstellungen vornehmen kann. Im Prinzip kann ich nur die Modis wechseln zwischen:
1.) NVIDIA (Performance Mode)
2.) NVIDIA On-Demand
3.) Intel (Power Saving Mode)
Doch leider kann ich hier auch keine weiteren Bildschirme zuschalten.

Nutzt du eventuell eine Waylandsitzung? Die funktioniert nicht mit Nvidia und ist noch "etwas" experimentell. Xorg allerdings überlegen. Das kann man in der Anmeldung auswählen. In den den Nvidia Settings (Konfiguration) kannst du zwischen Intel und Nvidia switchen, Reboot! Es ist leider alles sehr unbequem. Daher wird Nvidia nicht so gerne für Linux genutzt/empfohlen. Solltes das alles nichts helfen, kannst du den Nvidia mit folgenden Befehl im Terminal entfernen.
sudo apt-get purge nvidia*
Dann läuft wieder der nouveau. Der kann Wayland, hat aber sonst wenig Vorteile. Nutze den Link zum Nvidia Wiki. Da gibt es Bilder, besser als reiner Text. P.S. Operationen an der Grafik sind immer gefährlich! 👍

Ich nutze das normale Ubuntu, welches mit Xorg laufen sollte. Die Waylandsitzung ist dabei nicht ausgewählt. Ich werde mich gleich mal weiter durch das Nvidia Wiki wühlen, weiß aber noch nicht ganz wo das alles hinführen wird 😀 . Ich brauche leider die Nvidia Grafikkarte, da ich mit ROS arbeiten möchte und dafür nun mal eine Nvidea Grafikkarte empfohlen wird 😕 . Vielleicht fällt jemanden ja sonst nach was ein. Wenn ich was finden sollte, melde ich mich dazu ☺.

Das heißt, dass mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit die externen Anschlüsse an der Nvidia GPU hängen und du diese auch nutzen solltest, um darauf Zugriff zu haben. Das Durchreichen an die Intel GPU funktioniert mit nouveau nur ziemlich mies und mit dem proprietären Treiber noch schlechter. Mehr dazu verrät der Xorg Log.

An sich, weiß ich nicht, ob die GTX1650 bevorzugte Ausgänge besitzt, da ich diese in einem vorkonfiguriertem Laptop verwende. Ein Kumpel hatte mir geschrieben, dass er alles mit weiteren Bildschirmen via xradr macht. Wenn ich

Danach verfüge ich aktuell nicht über irgendwelche Anschlussmöglichkeiten fürchte ich. Aktuell habe ich die propritäre Version von dem Grafikkartentreiber (430) am laufen. Ich schaue mal wie das alles aussieht, wenn ich auf den Standard Linuxtreiber wieder umstelle. Ich habe in anderen Foren darüber etwas gelesen, dass ich ggf. die Xorg-Datei anpassen muss. Kann das helfen? Im Wiki steht, dass dieses bei älteren Distributionen gemacht wurde.

funktioniert jetzt bei mir das Nvidia Setting
Hast du denn den Performance Modus probiert? Reboot nicht vergessen. Für Cuda und OpenCL benötigst du den Nvidia Original. Für deine Karte sollte es der 440 sein.

Was genau macht denn das nomodeset in deiner Bootzeile? Der Nvidia Treiber will meines Wissens den modesetting X Treiber für die Intel GPU haben, der funktioniert nicht ohne KMS. Nemesis schrieb: Hier hat er die Anschlüsse alle soweit gefunden.
Da sieht man vor allem aber auch, dass der HDMI Anschluss an der Nvidia GPU hängt. Es sieht aber auch so aus, als ob deine Docking Station den Grafikchip für deren eigenen Bildschirmanschluss stellt - das kann noch ganz andere Probleme mit sich bringen. Die USB 3.0 Versionen der DisplayLink Chips werden aufgrund einer sinnlosen Verschlüsselung nicht vom Kernel unterstützt, der Kernel-eigene Treiber unterstützt nur die alten USB 2.0 Modelle.

Das hatte ich mal umgestellt gehabt, nach einer Empfehlung aus einem Forum. Nichts desto trotz habe ich jetzt nvidia-xrun installiert, da es mir laut dem Wiki helfen kann. Wenn ich das jetzt starten will, habe ich da Fehler, die ich nicht ganz einordnen kann.

Habe einzig die config Datei für nvidia-xrun in den Ordner /etc/default/nvidia-xrun kopiert, da die Konsole deswegen gemeckert hatte. Ich bin gar nicht so böse, wenn ich nur einen Bildschirm am Ende nutzen kann. einer wäre schon super, da ich dann mehr sehen kann und meine Peripherie nutzen kann wie Maus und Tastatur. Würde es mir eigentlich etwas bringen, wenn ich auf eine ältere Distrobution wechsel würde wie 18.04? Es kann nämlich sein, dass ich einen Distrobutionswechsel durchführen muss. Nicht wenn du deinen externen Bildschirm nutzen willst, denn damit hat das ganze schlicht und ergreifend überhaupt nichts zu tun.
