Hallo Forum,
auf meinem Urahn aller Laptops befinden sich drei USB-Anschlüsse, die allesamt definitiv hardwareseitig tot sind. Deshalb steckt im PCcard-Slot als Ersatz eine Karte mit zweifach USB-Hub. Diese wird seit 16.04 nicht mehr vom laufenden System erkannt. Ich hab mich schon damit abgefunden, dass bei dem alten Ding halt kein USB mehr nutzbar ist.
Allerdings -oh Wunder- wurde mir bei der letzten Neuinstallation vom Installer ein zufällig steckender USB-Stick als Installationsort angeboten...
Testweise hab ich darauf hin eine 12.04 Live-CD eingelegt, Karte und USB-Hub funktionieren dort einwandfrei- einen Hardwaredefekt kann ich deshalb ausschliessen. Also kann ich von einer Lösung nicht weit entfernt sein, komm aber nicht richtig weiter. Wie krieg ich das Ding wieder zum Laufen?
lsusb meldet vier Ports, das sind allerdings die oben genannten toten, um welche es hier NICHT geht.

In den Bootoptionen musste ich acpi=off setzen (ich arbeite noch an einer weniger radikalen Lösung 😉 ), da der Bootvorgang sonst einfriert. Besteht die Möglichkeit, dass dadurch auch die Karte davon beeinflusst wird?
