Vorausging mein kläglicher Versuch win10 durch Win7 durch Löschen und formatieren der Laufwerke wie auch MBR.

https://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/integrierte-kamera-thinkpad410/ Ich habe letztendlich Win7 installiert und wegen abhanden gekommener 18.04 Partitionierung 20.04 installiert. Problem:
1. Grubmenü lädt Dualbootmenü mit Win7 Eintrag, Win7 startet nicht, das Menü lädt neu, nur 20.04 startet.
2. Zunächst kläglicher Versuch mit SGrub Win zu reparieren SGrub2 kann das auch nicht, nur das OS starten.
3. Dann Installationsdvd systemreparatur cmd bootrec /fixmbr /fixboot Win7 startet sofort.
4. 20.04 mit SGrub wiederherstellen geht nicht, Dateien nicht vorhanden, wohl veraltete Version. Mit sgrub2 geht 20.04 zu starten und Grub reparieren, nur bin ich wieder bei 1.
5. Nochmal 3. mit sgrub2 20.04 starten und weiter nach https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/GRUB_2/Reparatur/ erst BIOS Instalation dann update-grub und ich bin wieder bei 1. Was mache ich falsch? Gibt es überhaupt hoffnung auf funktionierendes Dualboot.

Sind denn beide Systeme im MBR-Modus installiert? Sobald du das Windows mit der CD repariert hast Starte ein Live-System (z.B. vom Stick oder der DVD) und führe dann die GRUB-Reparatur aus.
Dann ist es ganz wichtig, dass die Boot-Platte die Ubuntu-Platte ist.

Wie meinen? Beide Systeme sind im MBR gelistet. Ich hatte nach der fix mbr versucht, den Grub mit 20.04 DVD zu reparieren. Hatte aber nur ausprobieren und installieren zur Auswahl und versuchte wie beschrieben den Grub zu reparieren. Aber irgendwie habe dabei den Win booter gelöscht. wie mache ich sonst die Reparatur? Ich habe nur ein Laufwerk mit mehreren Partitionen, und auf sda1 liegt der Bootsektor. Denke ich mal. Die wird als System-reserviert im Nautilus angezeigt.

Fix mbr repariert den Windows mbr, die Grub Reperatur repariert Grub für Linux Dual Boot Systeme, das unterscheidet sich, daher solltest du Kuhpisse Ratschlag befolgen https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/GRUB_2/Reparatur/
Du kannst uns auch mal von Linux Terminal aus deinen Partitionenbaum zeigen sudo parted -l

Dein Thinkpad T410 hat UEFI, daher halte ich es für sinnfrei weiterhin Windows 7 zu nutzen. Windows 7 wird in keinster Weise mehr unterstützt und lasse es mir dir sagen Windows 7 OS läuft auch nicht mehr rund. Es ist fehlerbehaftet oder wird fehlerbehaftet und Microsoft wird nichts mehr unternehmen. Dich supportet einfach niemand mehr mit Windows 7. Wenn es nur das Startmenü ist, lade dir "ClassicStartMenu" runter und installiere es, ansonsten lässt sich alles mit Windows 10 machen und es ist AKTUELL und SICHER!!! Also mein Ratschlag, nochmal plattmachen dein PC mit einer Windows 10 Installation und anschliessend ein *buntu 20.04 installieren. Dein Windows 10 Key ist im UEFI hinterlegt, d.h. es aktiviert sich dann automatisch.

Selbst Windows 10 kann mit Systemen ohne UEFI auskommen, habe ich selbst schon betrieben.

Ja klar kann es das aber sein Thinkpad T410 hat UEFI und dann kann man auch W10 im UEFI installieren und wenn ein *buntu sein muss, dann das hinterher, dann wird auch sein Grub wieder Tacko.

Du bist der Grub 2 Reparatur laut Wiki gefolgt und es klappt nicht? Mit Fix mbr hast du auf jeden Fall Murks gemacht, das war nicht nötig! Und sowas wie "SGrub Win" ist auch unnötig!

neuer Versuch nach dieser Anleitung
https://praxistipps.chip.de/ubuntu-grub-reparieren-so-gehts_44077 yuerst habe ich selber versucht die Reparatur einyustellen, hatte nach reboot im Grubmen[ keinne Optionen etw. von abgesicherter Moodus nur noch advanced xyz wo vorige Kernelversionen zu starten sind und Win7 auf sda1 und sda2 gehabt. sda1 war Nullnummer sda2 startete Win7. habe jetzt den MBR erst wiederhergestellt und dann nochmall bootrepair automatisch laufen lasse boot-repair-4ppa125 [20200714_1157]

hm, meinst du das? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair Ich bin wie gesagt der Meinung wenn du schonmal (Windows) Fix Mbr angewendet hast, hast du ohnehin Grub vermurkst und du kannst da nichts mehr machen. Von daher Neuinstallation. Und ja von mir aus auch dein Windows 7, obwohl ich das nicht befürworten kann.

ja das meine ich.
iwie habe ich nicht bedacht für den Bootloader das Laufwerk festzulegen. Ich bekomme im Grubmenü nun zwei Einträge sda1 und sda2. Wobei sda1 als boot markiert ist und sda2 das OS enthält.
naja ich werde mal größere DVDs kaufen, bevor win10 64 installiert werden kann.

wie gesagt ich würde das System platt machen, also alles neu installieren. Windows 10 kannst du auch ein USB Installationsmedium erstellen, unter Linux/Ubuntu bspw. mit WoeUSB, das *buntu deiner Wahl ebenfalls auf einen Stick, Live-USB. Und dann erst Windows und anschliessend Ubuntu, dann sollte dein System und dein Dual-Boot auch wieder funktionieren.

also ich habe win10 64 bit jetzt installiert und nach grubrepair habe ich auf sda1 immernoch den win7 bootloader OMG

Wie hast du denn Windows 10 installierst? Hast du ein Upgrade gemacht? Ich meine mit einem Windows 10 USB Image solltest du das installieren und dort beim Windows Setup an der Stelle mit den Partitionen alle löschen. Dann sollte auch kein Windows 7 Rest mehr vorhanden sein. Siehe Screenshot.
