Hallo Forengemeinde,
nach dem Austauschen von Hardware gelingt eine unter anderen Umständen bislang stets erfgolgreich durchgeführte neue Minimal-Installation von DVD mit '18.04.1-live-sever amd64, fast install, limited options' nicht.
Bei einem Dell OptiPlex 7060 Micro RVR6P mit Intel i7-8700T habe ich die vorhandene M.2-SSD (S-ATA 6,0GB/s, 256GB) gegen eine Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD (PCIe 3.0 x4, M.2 2280, 500GB) getauscht. Auf einem Lenovo-Laptop ging das ohne Probleme.
Im UEFI ist bei System Configuration / Drives korrekt eingetragen:
M.2 PCIe SSD-0: Type = 500GB SSD, Device-ID = Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB
Demnach wird man wohl auf der Platine keine Jumper umstecken müssen.
Im laufenden Betrieb mit einem auf 2,5“-SSD installierten Ubuntu 18.04 wird die 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD nicht erkannt.

Und beim anschließenden Versuch der beabsichtigten Ubuntu Installation von DVD auf die 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD wird kein Laufwerk zur Installation gefunden.
Dann bin ich mit ‘e‘ ins Grub-Menue gegangen (und NICHT mit ‚‘c‘ auf die Kommandozeile), dort habe ich set nvme_load=YES
eingetragen, das führte zu nichts.
Wie bitte sieht nach der Auswahl von 'c' die Befehlszeile für eine Minimal-Installation mit nvme_load=YES aus? Das habe ich bislang noch nie gemacht.
Oder muss ich doch im UEFI noch Einstellungen vornehmen?
