Hallo,
mmgmax@mmgmax-ThinkPad-X201:~$ ls -al /var/log/syslog* -rw-r----- 1 syslog adm 68098053 Jan 16 14:57 /var/log/syslog -rw-r----- 1 syslog adm 1818517 Nov 12 04:24 /var/log/syslog.1 -rw------- 1 root syslog 0 Nov 13 09:37 /var/log/syslog.1.gz -rw-r----- 1 syslog adm 111192 Nov 11 06:35 /var/log/syslog.2.gz -rw-r----- 1 syslog adm 314667 Nov 10 11:50 /var/log/syslog.3.gz -rw-r----- 1 syslog adm 75008 Nov 9 04:00 /var/log/syslog.4.gz -rw-r----- 1 syslog adm 75152 Nov 8 01:13 /var/log/syslog.5.gz -rw-r----- 1 syslog adm 124896 Nov 7 07:36 /var/log/syslog.6.gz -rw-r----- 1 syslog adm 53698 Nov 6 00:55 /var/log/syslog.7.gz
mmgmax@mmgmax-ThinkPad-X201:~$ sudo logrotate -d /etc/logrotate.conf [sudo] Passwort für mmgmax: reading config file /etc/logrotate.conf including /etc/logrotate.d reading config file apport reading config file apt reading config file cups-daemon reading config file dpkg reading config file lightdm reading config file pm-utils reading config file ppp reading config file rsyslog reading config file speech-dispatcher reading config file ufw reading config file unattended-upgrades reading config file upstart Handling 18 logs . . . rotating pattern: /var/log/syslog after 1 days (7 rotations) empty log files are not rotated, old logs are removed switching euid to 0 and egid to 104 considering log /var/log/syslog log does not need rotating switching euid to 0 and egid to 0 . . .
Vielleicht zeigt sich hier das Problem, in "error: error switching euid to 0 and egid to 104: Vorgang nicht zulässig".
mmgmax@mmgmax-ThinkPad-X201:~$ /usr/sbin/logrotate -d /etc/logrotate.conf reading config file /etc/logrotate.conf including /etc/logrotate.d reading config file apport reading config file apt reading config file cups-daemon reading config file dpkg reading config file lightdm reading config file pm-utils reading config file ppp reading config file rsyslog reading config file speech-dispatcher reading config file ufw reading config file unattended-upgrades reading config file upstart Handling 18 logs . . . rotating pattern: /var/log/syslog after 1 days (7 rotations) empty log files are not rotated, old logs are removed switching euid to 0 and egid to 104 error: error switching euid to 0 and egid to 104: Vorgang nicht zulässig . . .
mmgmax@mmgmax-ThinkPad-X201:~$ service rsyslog rotate * Closing open files rsyslogd [fail]
