Ich frage generell bei den Anwendungen & Aktualisierungen in den Einstellungen : Ubuntu Anwendungen Dort habe ich all die Jahre immer "Proprietäre Gerätetreiber (restricted) aktiviert. Nun nach dem Grafikdesaster Nvidia hab ich erfahren das dies nur von geübten Usern in Anwendung sinnvoll wäre. Ich aber dachte, da ich einen proprietären Treiber in verwendung habe (Nvidia 390.141 aktuell) ich müsse die "Proprietäre Gerätetreiber (restricted)" aktiviert haben um den 390 zu aktualisieren. Das hat aber damit nichts zu tunb? Ubuntu aktualisiert den Treiber auch ihne Aktivierung der "Proprietäre Gerätetreiber (restricted)" ? Ich habe das nun deaktiviert und kann feststellen das ich nur noch den 390.141 und Noveau zur Auswahl habe. Die anderen Treiber sind nicht mehr auswählbar. Kann mir jemand genau erklären was es damit auf sich hat? Dann noch eine Frage zud en rechtlich eingeschränkten Programmen (miultiverse).. Muss ich die rechtlich eingeschränkten Programme aktivieren, damit meine Fremdsoftware auf dem neuesten Stand bleibt, oder wird das auch gemacht wenn diese deaktiviert sind - also noch so Aktivierung für "Experten"? Heist um Fremdpakete wie skype, ec auf dem neuesten Stand zu halten ist es notwendig die "Rechtlich eingeschränkte Programme"(multiverse) zu aktivieren, oder brauche ich das als "Standarduser" nicht? Für Fremdpakete ist es egal, ob die offiziellen Paketquellen (main, restricted, universe, multiverse, partner (sandardmäßig nicht aktiv) aktiv sind oder nicht, da es ja aus einer Fremdquelle kommt. Zeige cat /etc/apt/sources.list

Die Frage ist noch bei den "proprietären Gerätetreibern (restricted)", diese habe ich nun deaktiviert und sehe nur den - vorher schon aktivierten Treiber 390.141 von Nvidia, auch notwendig da ohne diesen der nouveau eine Riesengrafik liefert - und den nouveau. Die anderen möglichen Treiber, die zur Auswahl standen sind weg. Wird der 390.141, nun weiter aktualisiert? Waren die Probleme meinerseits vielleicht weil mit der Aktivierung des restricted (hatte ich vorher ja aktiviert) die Aktualisierungen vorab vom Hersteller (nvidia) kamen und Ubuntu diese noch nicht "ofiziell" eingespeist hatte (in seine proprietären) ? LG

Deaktivierte Quellen werden bei Aktualisierungen von Anwendungen schlicht nicht berücksichtigt. Bei Systemupgrades werden z.B. Fremdquellen (wie PPAs) standardmäßig deaktivier. Nur aktive Quellen werden bei Updates angewendet.

Na ja, da der 390.141 der aktiviert war wird trotz deaktivierung der Quellen - da er noch aufgeführt ist aktualisiert. Ist ja auch ein proprietärer Treiber...

Es werden beim Deaktivieren von Paketquellen auch keine Pakete deinstalliert, wenn diese aus dieser Fremdquelle stammen. Die von dir installierten nvidia-Pakete stammen aus restricted, aktiviere daher diese Paketquelle wieder.
Zeige dann cat /etc/apt/sources.list
