Die Schnittstellen, die Netzwerkbrücke und die Netzwerkeinstellungen können aber rel. einfach manuell konfiguriert werden (ifconfig & oder ip & hostapd.conf). Ich verwende dazu gerne Skripte.
Von einer Konfiguration über die Interfaces habe ich auch nichts geschrieben, im Wiki steht es noch, dass ist richtig. Dass Du persönlich es so nicht willst, ist etwas anderes. hostapd funktioniert mit der verbauten Karte, auch das steht im genannten Wiki-Artikel (Abschnitt Hardware).

Danke, das Du dir so viel Mühe gibst.... Ich habe es mit hostapd 1000 mal in 1000 verschiedenen Varianten versucht....
Es will und will nicht klappen....
z. Bsp.: immer der Fehler mit dem driver .... driver=nl80211
Ich finde nirgends eine Beschreibung, wie das richtig Funktioniert, oder was ich dort eintragen soll...
Meine WLAN Karte funktioniert, und sie unterstützt AP...aber hostapd bekomme ich nicht zum laufen.. Mal kurz zusammengefasst: - Mein Server LAN läuft eno1 IP 192.168.0.100 - Mein Server WLAN läuft wlp1s0 IP 192.168.101 - Mein Server ISC-DHCP läuft (192.168.0.100) - Mein Router mit LTE Stick (Dovado) macht das WAN und läuft am Server in netplan und ISC-DHCP als gateway IP 192.168.0.1 - Jetzt fehlt noch der WLAN Accesspoint am Server (Der läuft zur Zeit noch am Dovado Router) - Wenn WLAN Access Point läuft kommt noch die ppp Verbindung über den USB-LTE-Stick dazu...(die ist testweise auch schon gelaufen)

OK, dann haben wir zunächst ein Problem mit hostapd. Zeige doch bitte mal deine hostapd.conf (eingetragenes WLAN-Kennwort natürlich unkenntlich machen/Sternchen o.ä.) und die Ausgabe von
von dem Gerät. Und, wenn möglich, die genaue Fehlermeldung nach einem Startversuch von hostapd.

... muss schon eingetragen sein. Da stimmt also etwas nicht. Den Zustand des Interface fragst Du mittels

Mein Wlan läuft und ist verbunden...
Das kollidiert natürlich miteinander da die Karte ja bereits im Infrastrukturmodus läuft und eine Verbindung besteht.

Ja, könnte kollidieren....und wie abschalten?! sudo ifconfig wlp1s0 down schaltet mir das Wlan ab, aber hostapd schaltet es nicht wieder ein...?! ....steh schon wieder auf der Leitung... Ich denke da stimmt Irgendetwas mit dem driver=.... nicht. Ich finde keine Anleitung wie das richtig geht... sudo hostapd -dd /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf

Hallo, aus beruflichen Gründen kann ich mich aktuell nicht intensiver mit dem Thema befassen und schnell antworten (Habe momentan 24h Notdienst). Ich werde das ebenfalls mit einer InteL AC7260 Dualband-Karte unter 18.04 testen. Dauert aber ein paar Tage bis ich Ergebnisse liefern kann. Die Karte liegt hier noch auf dem Tisch und muss erst mit einem PCIe-Bus Adapter in den Desktoprechner eingebaut werden.

Hallo Rainer! Ich bin mittlerweile soweit das ich ein WLAN habe. Zumindest scheint es auf, und ich kann mich verbinden. Aber ich habe kein Internet und und sonst auch nichts.... Ich habe die wlan.yaml aus meinem natplan Verzeichnis genommen, reboot.. und mit hostapd -dd /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf gestartet.

Ok, also der AP an sich läuft anscheinend!?
der DHCP-Server auch, der/die Clients bekommen eine IP-Adresse zugewiesen? wie stellst Du aktuell die Internetverbindung auf dem Gerät her? Du musst jetzt NAT und IP-Forward zwischen dem Interface für den Internetzugang und dem WLAN-AP einrichten

valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever - Die Internetverbindung geht über einen externen Router → gateway 192.168.0.1 Ich hab gestern vor Wut alle neuen Einstellungen noch mal gelöscht.... Den ISC-DHCP habe ich auf die Schnittstelle eno1 und wlp1s0 gestellt.
Dann bekam ich eine IP... In den Iptables eingetragen: (Stammt aus https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/WLAN_Router/) -A FORWARD -o eno1 -i wlp1s0 -s 192.168.0.0/24 -m conntrack --ctstate NEW -j ACCEPT

Was ich da alles lese.... - Einmal das Ganze mit bridge - Einmal über dhcp mit einer Schnittstelle, dann mit zwei Schnittstellen - WLAN Router - Internetverbindungsfreigabe - Router - Ad-hoc Überall sind unterschiedliche Angaben, und alle beziehen sich immer nur auf "Interfaces", nie auf netplan, und alle funktionieren über dnsmasq....ich hab schon ISC-DHCP und einen Bind9... ....Es ist zum Verzweifeln.... sieh mal hier: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/254081/why-cant-devices-connected-to-my-wlan0-interface-communicate-with-eth0-devices
