Hello, I have an A7Vc Notebook from ASUS (ASUSTeK Computer Inc.) with a lot of "Unknown Devices" which looks like this: ... 03:03.0 Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection [8086:4220] (rev 05) Subsystem: Intel Corporation Unknown device [8086:2701] Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 22 Memory at feafc000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K] Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 2 ... So, I thought I could contribute to your database because I know very good which components are in my notebook. But I'm really confused how to do it because there are no good examples and a lot of strange things. So, I tried to start at the only entry which is not an "Unknown device": 03:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ [10ec:8139] (rev 10) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. L8400B or L3C/S notebook [1043:1045] Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 21 I/O ports at d800 [size=256] Memory at feaffc00 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256] Capabilities: [50] Power Management version 2 So I thought that I would find an ID 8139 in your Database which leads me to Realtek, where I can add my Controller RTL8100CL to this ID. (* see complete data of the chip at end of this mail But there is no ID in your Database at http://pci-ids.ucw.cz/iii/?p=8 Why? In Windows it says in the DeviceManager/Geräteinstanzerkennung: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8139&SUBSYS_10451043&REV_10\4&F971712&0&00F0 \ \ \ \ 8139 \ 1043 \ (rev 10) 1045 This is all the same as in the linux system, so it should be correct and there should be an entry in your database. But where? I can't find it. The next. The Subsystem is wrong for me because I have an A7Vc notebook. But where can I add this information? You see I'm stuck at the beginning. Please help me. Where can I find more information about this topic? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (* LAN REALTEK Jack RJ-45 I/F PCI Wake on LAN YES Controller RTL8100CL Treiberpack für RTL8169_8139_810x_663_0705 funktioniert.
