Volume Control for gnome (is this really neeed? you can perfectly fine use pavucontrol) should go in the official client imho. it is alrady on Bertos TODO List [1]

your second request - tag mp3s with albumcovers is soehow controversial. Gonome players save the cover in ~/.gnome2/rhythmbox/covers/Artist - Title.jpg. Others load just the first jpg from the folder the file is in, others again will load the in the mp3 File embedded picture (like easytag saves covers). So.. you see the problem.

What would be easy is to save the covers in ~/.gnome2/rhythmbox/covers/ folder. But it will only work in rhythmbox, and after a reinstall (if you don't keep your home folder on a different partition - what's still not the default install's partitioning schema unfortunately) all covers will be gone.

But maybe someone can come up with a better Solution.

– same in de –

Vagalume TODO List (in no particular order):

* Alarm clock
* Send recommendations to many users at once
* A better UI
* History
* Add a volume bar to control the volume graphically
* Support changing the popularity of recommendations
* Configuration setting to select different decoder/sinks
* Drop down of favourite artists for similar artists radio
* Auto download of free tracks
* Add links to launch browser to go to last.fm page
* Get proxy setting from environment/maemo settings
* Notify user on successful scrobble
* Pause button
* Multi-user support
* Save list of unsubmitted tracks

Hi together!

i have come across another small bug in the patch: on a fresh intrepid install, the patched version segfaults if there is no ~/.vagalume/config.xml file present

** (vagalume:31668): DEBUG: Initializing D-Bus...
** (vagalume:31668): DEBUG: Config file not found. Trying old config file.
** (vagalume:31668): DEBUG: Config file not found
** (vagalume:31668): DEBUG: Creating GStreamer element mad: success
** (vagalume:31668): DEBUG: Creating GStreamer element audioconvert: success
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

i used a default config.xml file to work around this and vagalume starts ok. the segfault also does not happen if a config file from an old version like vagalume 0.6 is found.

So it would be nice if you cold have a look into this.

working default ~/.vagalume/config.xml (needed for fist run only):

Volume Control for gnome (is this really neeed? you can perfectly fine use pavucontrol) should go in the official client imho. it is alrady on Bertos TODO List

Hi!

So, jetzt also ein reiner "Patch"-Thread hier, also frisch ans Werk 😉 !

1
2
** (vagalume:5998): DEBUG: Initializing D-Bus...
** (vagalume:5998): DEBUG: Unable to get DBUS connection

checking for GIO... yes
checking for MEDIA_PROFILES... yes
checking for GCONF... yes
Compiling with tray icon and notifications
./configure: line 22534: syntax error near unexpected token `VAGALUME_LOCALE_DIR'
./configure: line 22534: `AM_GLIB_DEFINE_LOCALEDIR(VAGALUME_LOCALE_DIR)'
make: *** [config.status] Fehler 2

"libtool automake libgconf2-dev libglade2-dev libgnome2-dev"

/*        if (!dbus_connection) {
                 g_debug("Unable to get DBUS connection");
                 return DBUS_INIT_ERROR;
         } */

Brachialmethode; ist nicht getestet; also ohne Gewähr!
