Hallo Community,

vorab hab ich mich mal hier über'n Error 17 versucht schlau zu machen:

Auch ich hab mein Systen neuinstalliert, in meinem Fall auf einer SD-(HC) Karte.

Die SDHC Karte wird auch vom System, und vorallem auch bei der Ubuntu-System-Installation erkannt. Somit kann man beim Installieren von der CD oder DVD ausgehend, die SD-Karte als Installations-Medium auswählen, dieses Partitionieren und, wenn man möchte auch den Grub wahlweise auf die (auch vorhandene) Festplatte, oder auf die SD-Karte einrichten lassen.

Gesagt getan - und Installiert.

Das die Installation läuft dann auch OHNE Fehlermeldung, ganz sauber bis zum erfolgreichen Installationsende druch, und verlangt dann naturgemäß nach dem Neustart.

Nachdem das Bios dann neu gestartet ist, erscheint NACH dem Grub, und NACHDEM man ein beliebiges installiertes System ausgewählt hat, "Error 17" - Cannot mount selected Partition.

Über "diesen" Grub kann man weder das Windwos von der Festplatte auswählen - startet aber nicht.

- das Festplatten-Ubuntu auswählen, startet aber nicht (Cannot mount selected Partition... - oder auch das neue SD-Karten-Ubuntu auswählen, startet ebenfalls nicht(Error 17-Cannot mount......)

Nimmt man die SD-Karte wieder herraus, kann man wieder normal von der Festplatte starten, sofern man den Festplatten Grub sich nicht verändern lassen hat.

Andernfalls hilft die Supergrub-CD wieder den alten Grub wiederherzustellen.

Die Supergrub-CD hilft aber nicht, den den "Error 17" Fehler beim SD-Karten-Boot zu beheben.

Was mache ich falsch, oder was muss man noch bei der SD-Karten-Installation beachten?

Stecke die SD-Karte mal an und boote bis ins Grub-Menü. Drücke dann bitte die Taste 'c'. Du landest jetzt in einer Kommandozeile. Gib hier bitte mal

find /boot/grub/menu.lst

find /grub/menu.lst

und

find /vmlinuz

ein und poste hier bitte die Ergebnisse. Verändere noch nichts, vielleicht läßt sich das ganz einfach lösen...

Hallo, hier kann ich dir schonmal das Ergebnis liefern, zumindest den Inhalt der menu.lst.

Auf der Festplatte /dev/sda3 - ist eine Suse Installation, von der der Grub genutzt wird. Dieser Grub startet als erstes.

HIER, in diesem 1. (Suse)-Grub kann ich Ubuntu auswählen, der dann den Grub von Ubuntu lädt.

Somit lautet die menu.lst Ausgabe von dem 1. (Suse)-Grub:

im Suse-Grub bin ich jetzt nicht auf die Kommandozeile gekommen, aber ich hoffe das die Ausgabe aus der gestarteten Suse und dem Terminal ausreichend aussagekräftig ist.

Jetzt klappt es ja urplötzlich ☺ ☺ Es ist ja im Prinzip gar nicht so schwer, wenn man nur weiss "W I E" ..

Auf jedenfalls ein tausendfachesdankeschööööön von mir.

Jetzt muss das ganze nochmal intensiev getestet werden, auf jedenfall läuft der Start sauber druch, ist schneller und (viel konfigurierbarer) als eine LIVE-CD 😉 Kein Festplattenrattern mehr, ausser wenn man denn gerne möchte. Der Bootvorgang dauert etwa gleich lange, oder gleich kurz wie von der Festplatte.

Also nun, wohin darf ich den Blumenstrauss senden..... (auf der Suche nach einem Blumenstrauß-Smilie bin....)
