Hallo allerseits,

ich habe ein System bestehend aus 2 Festplatten zweimal W98 und zweimal Linux.
Bei der Installation diverser Systeme habe ich Grub installiert. Booten klappt in jeder Hinsicht vorzüglich.
Allerdings habe ich Grub auf Disk installieren lassen.
Jetzt möchte ich ihn aber auf Festplatte haben, um mir die Boot-Disk zu ersparen.
Bloß, wie geht das?

/dev/hda3 /boot + lilo (lilo dient nur als "Bootsektor")

Das /boot-Verzeichnis brauchst Du heutzutage nicht mehr (ich hab das vor Jahren erstellt wegen der 1024-Zylinger- und der 8-GB-Grenze), lilo könnte nach /

Mein Vorschlag lautet wie gesagt XOSL.
Einige Features:
Partition-Hiding: (das eine Win weiß also nichts vom anderen und beide wissen nichts vom DOS),
graphisches Setup,
sehr robust: (sollte der MBR überschrieben werden - Win-Installation - mache ich das Win auf hda1 startbar und führe install von xosl aus. Da ich fast nie formatiere, habe ich meine Einstellungen von xosl immer verfügbar und falls ich formatiere kommen die xosl-Dateien auf Diskette)
Passwortschutz einzelner oder aller Partitionen

Du kannst Grub über eine Kommandozeile mit grub-install /dev/hdx installieren und dann die Konfigurationsdatei kopieren.
