Ich habe mir einen Ubuntu Server (Server CD 7.10) aufgesetzt. Anschließend habe ich den proftpd Server installiert und nach diesem Tutorial (http://www.howtoforge.com/proftpd_mysql_virtual_hosting) für mysql konfiguriert. Da der Login ziemlich langsam ist, habe ich "IdentLookups Off" eingefügt. Leider ist der Server immernoch sehr langsam.
