Ich schalte vor zwei Tagen meinen Computer ein und boote Ubuntu compiz geht ganz normal. Ich schalte meinen Computer gestern ein Compiz geht nicht mehr. Wenn ich die Desptopeffekte (nach dem Systemstart waren sie auf deaktiviert) wieder auf benutzerdefiniert stellen will geht es nicht mehr und es kommt eine Fehlermeldung mit dem Text, dass die Desktopeffekte nicht aktiviert werden können. Was muss ich machen um sie wieder zu aktivieren. Wenn ich vorher normal gestartet habe öffne ich Firefox und es entfaltet sich(Compizeffekt) ich schließe ihn und Feuer kommt(Compiz effekt) Aber ich das eigentliche Problem ist, dass ich über die Desktopeffekte Compiz nicht aktivieren kann. Als ich nämlich festtellte, dass Compiz nicht mehr funktioniert bin ich in die Desktopeffekte gegangen und dort war desktopeffekte deaktiviert. Ich kann das Häcken auch nicht auf benutzerdefiniert setzen weil dann ein fehler kommt siehe oben Mit Zitat antworten Geht es vielleicht in der Konsole?

Ich benutze Neben Linux noch Win XP

Hab Ubuntu jetzt knapp ein Monat also bitte nicht verärgert sein wenn ich nicht sofort alles verstehe.

Und gib mal in der Konsole folgenden Befehl ein:

lspci | grep VGA

Ich hatte vor kurzem mit Jaunty das gleiche Problem - es hatte mit einer Intelgrafikkarte zu tun. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass das auch die Ursache Deines Problems ist.

Übrigens: Bitte gib immer Deine Ubuntu-Version an. (Siehe auch: Richtig fragen.)

Im fehlt die "Texture from Pixmap" OpenGL Erweiterung, die Compiz zwingend braucht. Aktuelle nvidia OpenGL Bibliotheken müssten diese mitliefern, eigentlich.

Kann ich bitte mal die Datei /var/log/Xorg.0.log und die Ausgabe von glxinfo haben?

Am besten wäre eigentlich, wenn Du mit

sudo nvidia-bug-report.sh einen nvidia bug report erstellst (da ist die Xorg log unter anderem drin) und noch die Ausgabe von glxinfo dazupackst.

Eigentlich hätte ich da mit lesen aufhören können, wo ich gesehen habe, dass ein nvidia Treiber manuell kompiliert und installiert wurde ...

(EE) NVIDIA(0):     server, and that the module is the NVIDIA GLX module.  If
(EE) NVIDIA(0):     you continue to encounter problems, Please try
(EE) NVIDIA(0):     reinstalling the NVIDIA driver.

Versions Mismatch zwischen OpenGL Biblitoheken und Treibern, oder OpenGL Bibliotheken falsch gelinkt.

Also bitte folgendes machen:

Manuell installierte Treiber sauber entfernen, via Envy installierte Treiber sauber entfernen, dann via

http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Grafikkarten/Nvidia#ber-die-Paketverwaltung

den nvidia Treiber neu installieren, dann sollte alles wieder stimmen.

Ansonsten einfach wieder melden ☺

PS: Solltest Du den Treiber, aus welchen Gründen auch immer, manuell installieren wollen, dann beachte bitte http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Grafikkarten/Nvidia/Manuelle_Treiberinstallation wobei ich davon dringenst abrate, wenn Du noch eher neu bist im Linuxbereich.

Ich habe meinen Treiber ja bereits manuell installiert, da es aus irgendeinem grund nicht mit hardware treiber gegangen ist. soll ichs trotzdem versuchen?

Ich habe es nach der Inastallation von Ubuntu 9.04 gerade eben nochmal versucht und es lies sich wieder aktivieren. Der vorige Threath war etwas voreilig trotzdem danke für eure Hilfe.
