Kernel: 2.6.27-9-generic , Kubuntu 8.10 Intrepid x64 FGLRX-Version: 8.56.4, Catalyst Version: 8.53 OpenGL-Version: 1.4 (2.1.8304 Release) ATI Mobility Radeon X700, Acer Aspire 5024 WLMi Der FGLRX-Treiber ist die aktuelle Version des Restricted-Managers / Jockey, allerdings habe ich dann das aktuelle Catalyst 8.12 vom 01.12.2008 aktualisiert. Sprich es ist eigentlich der Treiber vom Download der ATI-Seite.

Mich treibt seit einer geraumen Weile der FGLRX-Treiber zum Wahnsinn. Ich habe mehrere Hardwarekonfigurationen auf meinem Notebook (Acer Aspire 5024 WLMi) über GRUB-alternativ-Boot:
1. nur LCD-Display des Notebooks (läuft auch) 2. LCD + externem CRT oder Beamer oder sonstigem externen 4:3 Display 3. LCD + ATI TV-Out (S-Video-Anschluss)
Wenn ich bspw. unter der Konfiguration 1 starte und ein externes Display oder den TV dran habe, dann erkennt X das Display und klont das Bild vom LCD auf das jeweilige Gerät. Sprich: Die Ausgabe geklont, ohne besondere Konfiguration in der xorg.conf funzt!
Sobald ich aber ein Gerät beim Booten dranhabe und im Grub eine meiner anderen xorg.conf starte, crasht der XServer beim Start, hier die /var/log/Xorg.0.log vom Versuch beim Starten mit CRT-Monitor am VGA-Anschluss:

Ich habe schon soviel ausprobiert.... mit AMDCCCLE, ATICONFIG, von Hand geschriebene xorg.confs usw.
Was mach ich falsch? Wo liegt das Problem???

Warum klappt das nicht??? Es funktioniert doch, wenn in der xorg.conf nur Einträge für ein Gerät sind. Allerdings dann natürlich verzerrt und geklont. Ich hätte aber gerne 2 unabhängige Desktops (wegen unterschiedlicher Auflösung) + Xinerama + Vollbild-Video auf dem TV-Out, oder dem Beamer über VGA-Anschluss.
