Hi,

ich benutze seit April 2009 Ubuntu 9.04. Alles lief bestens bis zum Freitag 09.10. Nach den regulären Updates lies sich Ubuntu 9.04 nur noch im low-graphics mode starten. Nach einem Backup meiner persönlichen Daten habe ich Ubuntu 9.04 komplett neu aufgespielt. Nach der Reinstallation war alles OK. Dann machte ich ein Update und wieder lässt sich Ubuntu 9.04 nur noch im low-graphics mode starten.

In den Foren habe ich diesbzgl. nichts gefunden. Ich bin mit meinem Latein am Ende und hoffe ihr könnte mir weiter helfen. Mein System: Notebook Toshiba Satellite L300 mit Intel Intel GMA 4500M Grafik Chip.

Ich bin erst mit Ubuntu 9.04 in die "Linux-Welt" eingetreten und fühle mich als Rookie. Falls ihr noch weitere Angaben benötigt, bitte sagen wo ich diese ggf. finden kann.

Bei Ubuntu 9.04 sind zum ersten Mal die neuen Intel Grafikkartentreiber dabei. Mit diesen kann es zu Problemen kommen. Siehe Grafikkarten/Intel Abschnitt 3 (Intel Chips unter Ubuntu 9.04)

besten Dank. Aber leider hatte dies nicht den gewünschten Effekt ☹. Ich habe aber gerade gesehen, dass "mein" Fehler als Bug eingereicht wurde:

[Bug 448825] [NEW] No kernel modesetting driver detected. GDM loads Low-Res screen (http://www.mail-archive.com/ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com/msg1756514.html)

Da heißt es wohl jetzt warten und hoffen, dass das Problem bis zur Release 9.10 gefixt wird.

mir ist genau das gleiche auf einem thinkpad passiert. ich hab jedoch das glück, dass das thinkpad eine hybrid grafik hat und neben der internen INTEL noch eine ATI-karte hat. ich konnte dann mit der ATI starten und in der paketverwaltung die version 2.7 (der nicht funktionierende ist 2.9) erzwingen. jetzt geht zwar kein 3D mehr aber die kiste läuft wenigstens. ich hoffe das es heute ein update geben wird.

Hilft zwar niemandem, aber ich habe das selbe Problem hier ☹ Bitte Lösung Posten sobald eine verfügbar ist. Vielen Dank.

Ich wollte eigentlich nur darauf hinweisen, dass man (auch aus der Konsole) sich nur die xorg-video-intel Treiber mit der Version 2.7.0 installieren sollte und dann erstmal wieder arbeiten kann. Ich denke das hilft schon einigen.

ich hatte dieses Problem auch. Hier https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/447181 wird darauf https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/KernelModeSetting verwiesen, was bei mir mit Kernel version linux-image-2.6.31-12-generic i386.deb von hier http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/l/linux/

und der xorg-edger alternative (der wikiseite) gefunzt hat.

Bei diesem Punkt

hatte ich Probleme da es genannte Datei bei mir nicht gibt.

Ich hab dann mit gksudo gedit die Zeile "i915.modeset=1" in die menu.lst, die ihr in /boot/grub findet, manuell eingefügt. Also der Abschnitt der Datei, Vorher:

und neu starten.

Bei mir hat es geklappt, natürlich gibts keine Garantie, aber einen vorsichtigen Versuch ist es allemal Wert, da die Alternativen ( permanente Low-graphics oder Windows?) inakzeptabel sind.

ich hab diese nirgends runtergeladen. sie ist im synaptics mit aufgeführt unter "Paket" → "Version erzwingen"

Das liegt daran das man diese Datei selbst erstellen muss ich war durch das "adding" verwirrt. Besser wär wohl "by creating", aber egal. Die Version im obigen post Version funktioniert zwar auch, besser ist bestimmt einfach im Terminal:

gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/i915-kms.conf

dann im Textfeld

options i915 modeset=1

eingeben, speichern, weiter mit

sudo update-initramfs -u

und neu starten.
