Hi,

mit großen Schrecken haben ich im Web gelesen dass die folgende Windows Version 8 wahrscheinlich nur auf UEFI-PC's laufen wird. Quelle: http://www.hartware.de/news_51879.html

Meine Frage wäre dann: würde oder läuft Ubuntu und Linux allgemein unter BIOS-Nachfolger?

Auf meinem Asus K52JT mit UEFI-BIOS läuft es jedenfalls prima.

Mit

und eingrenzend auf

Aber theoretisch konnte MS die Hersteller von Mainboards mit Geld locken und nur für Windows UEFI bootbar machen?

Das eigentliche Problem ist, Windows 8 wird nicht mehr auf den alten BIOS-Mainboards laufen. Juckt mich nicht.

Tjaa dann mussten alle die Windoof 8 haben wollen, falls MS Windows 7 Support bereits Anfang 2013 einstellt sich einen neuen PC holen.. 👿

Ist locate ein Debian-Kommando? Hier unter Suse kennt keiner locate.

Nein, ein GNU-Tool.

Hier unter Suse kennt keiner locate.

su
zypper install findutils-locate

sollte da Abhilfe schaffen. 😉
