Hallo. Ich bin, wie viele hier, absoluter Linux-Newbie.
Habe es immerhin geschafft, die ATI Treiber für meine X1950Pro, XGL und Beryl zu installieren. Das mit der 5.1-Soundausgabe habe ich aufgegeben, macht halt einfach keinen Sinn.
Dann habe ich mich gleich auf das nächste gestürzt: mein LCD-Display.
Es ist ein 4x40 LCD mit HD44780 Controllern.
MIt LCD4Linux habe ich es mit Mühe auch problemlos zum Laufen gebracht, aber mir fehlt da der Wechsel (dass z.b. erst CPU Infos, dann Festplatte, XMMS ... angezeigt wird).
Dann habe ich LCDProc gefunden, was ja genau diese Wechsel kann. Habe LCDd und alles installiert, gestartet, aber auf meinem LCD wird nichts angezeigt. Hier die LCDd.conf (abschnittweise):

Hat jemand eine Seite, wo das genau für Noobs erklärt wird, wie lcdproc genau funktioniert ? Weil die Seite http://lcdproc.omnipotent.net/ ist finde ich zu unpräzise. Mir ist auch aufgefallen, dass ich eine völlig andere Pinbelegung habe, als dort beschrieben sind (nach diesem Schaltplan:)
