Hallo, hab bei meinem neuen Ubuntu das Problem dass der Grafikkartentreiber laut Ausgabe aktiviert aber nicht in Benutzung ist. Ich merks auch bei diversen grafischen Anwendungen. Wie kann ich den richtig einstellen? Hab leider von sowas überhaupt keine Ahnung, und die Threads die ich dazu schon gefunden hab haben mir nicht wirklich weitergeholfen weil ich von dem ganzen Zeug echt kein Plan hab...

Grafikkarte ist ne GeForce GTW 275.

Wenn ihr mir irgendwie weiterhelfen könnt, oder ich irgendwelche Terminalausgaben posten soll, raus damit ;D

Kommt schon, irgendwer muss doch wissen wie ich das angehn kann ☹ Ich will da jetzt nich mit irgendnem Halbwissen dran rum knauben, am Schluss hab ich dann ne total zerschossene Oberfläche, das is mir schonmal passiert...

Ich seh auch grad dass ich mich auch noch verschrieben hab; es is ne GeForce GTX 275. Sigh.

Die "aktiviert, aber nicht in Benutzung"-Message an sich sagt noch nichts aus, da die unter Natty in jockey-gtk auch bei diesbzgl. funktionierenden Systemen kommt. Da's bei Dir aber tatsächlich hakt, führe folgende Befehlszeilen aus und poste deren Ausgaben in Codeboxes (Symbol Zahnrad auf Papier/Rohtext)!

Bemerkenswert ist die Diskrepanz zwischen Häufigkeit entsprechender Anfragen in uu-de und "unter ferner liefen" in eben diesem Launchpad-Artikel.

@axt: Festzustellen bei zB dem Spiel "Armagetron", das ich testweise mal runtergeladen hab; Das hängt nach dem Starten direkt schon böse und man kommt nich übers Hauptmenü raus. Auf dem Laptop mit ebenfalls 11.04 aber ner ATI Grafikkarte (die auch aktiv UND in Nutzung ist) geht das ohne Probleme. Compiz scheint bis auf wenige Bugs, die aber bei ATI-Laptop und GeForce-Desktop gleich sind, zu funktionieren. Zu Unity kann ich nix sagen, da ich den Mist nicht nutze, falls du das meinst ;p Aber beim ersten Systemstart hat das glaube ich funktioniert, meine ich.

Ich sag' doch, Fangfrage. Die GeForce funktioniert also mit dem proprietären Treiber nvidia korrekt. Daß ein bestimmtes Spiel (letzte Version von 2010-02) nicht wie gewollt läuft, ist eine ganz andere Frage.

Sorry, hatte auch vergessen zu erwähnen dass zB mein zweiter Monitor (VGA) nicht erkannt wird. Hab keine Möglichkeit den im System hinzuzufügen. Und bei meinem primären Montitor (DVI) steht "Unbekannt", den scheint er also auch nicht richtig zu erkennen.

Dann füge den in der xorg.conf als zusätzlichen Bereich hinzu!

Du kannst bei VendorName und ModelName auch "Homer Simpson" hinzufügen. Die Horizontal- und Vertikalfrequenzen stimmen doch, oder?
