Hallo, Unter Breezy lief es nicht out of the box (habe aber auch nicht gefummelt), unter Dapper lief es out of the box beim ersten Booten. Dann mal wieder nicht, je nach Laune. Jetzt habe ich die Anleitung befolgt und ich konnte ohne Neustart Speedstepping anschalten, also dann fest implementiert. Laut Gerätemanager ist der Chipsatz ein [edit] das Tonproblem hat sich erledigt, hatte nichts damit zu tun. 😳 |

Unter 7.04, auf einem HP Omnibook 6000 (coppermine 800MHz) macht das speedstep nu auch keine Probleme mehr. Aber, obs "wirklich" optimal läuft? Wenn der powernowd läuft, sinkt der Prozessortakt sofort auf 650, wenn nicht, bleibt er fest auf 800. Da scheint noch was faul zu sein... |

Hallo! Mein ThinkPad T22 zickt mit dem Prozessortakt. Im BIOS (heute aktualisiert auf Version 1.12 vom 27.04.2004) ist ein Pentium(R)III - Intel(R) SpeedStep technology mit 900 MHz eingetragen. Ich habe schon die verschiedensten BIOS-Einstellungen getestet, die etwas mit dem Prozessortakt zu tun haben (könnten). Nach dem Start von Gnome (Ubuntu 6.10) kommt die Meldung, dass Taktabstufung nicht unterstüzt wird. Das Applet zur Überwachung der Taktfrequenz zeigt 697 MHz (angeblich 100%) an. Lügt das BIOS, oder was läuft hier verkehrt? wo isn die info bzw das command abgeblieben um das speedstepping per gnome apllet aktiv zu beeinflussen ( rechte mussten nur geändert werden aber ich ich weis nicht mehr welche datei das war :/ wurde das wiki geändert ? heute morgen fand ich die info noch ?! |

Habe heute versucht, Speedstep auf einem Acer Travelmate 529 TX mit Ali-Chipset unter Gutsy mit dem Standardkernel zu aktivieren. Nach der Anleitung dürfte es auf jenem Rechner auch nicht funktionieren. speedstep-lib lässt sich noch problemlos laden, bei speedstep-smi erhalte ich nur folgende Ausgabe: FATAL: Error inserting speedstep_smi (/lib/modules/2.6.22-14-generic/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/speedstep-smi.ko): No such device . Beim Neustart des Powernow-Dämons erhalte ich * Stopping powernowd: [ OK ] * Starting powernowd... /etc/init.d/powernowd: 156: cannot create /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0//cpufreq/scaling_governor: Directory nonexistent * CPU frequency scaling not supported Ich weiß nicht ob das helfen kann, aber folgende Ausgabe bekomme ich auch noch: # lsmod|grep speedstep speedstep_lib 6404 0 Ich habe noch versucht, mit den Parametern des speedstep_smi Moduls herumzubasteln, da ändert sich aber leider nichts. Im Bios finden sich keine Informationen zum Prozessor, unter Windows funktioniert Speedstep mit dem Intel-Applet allerdings problemlos. Habt ihr vielleicht eine Idee, was man noch ausprobieren könnte? Danke im Voraus und liebe Grüße |

Hallo, die Anleitung im Wiki funktionierte für meine Feisty-Installation, aber seitdem ich Gutsy auf meine Thinkpad T22 habe, kam dasselbe Problem wie früher: beim Start bekommen ich ab und zu einen schwarzen Bildschirm. Ich vermute, die Konfigurationsparameter für speedstep-smi bzw. speedstep-lib sollen für Gutsy wohl anders sein. Weiß jemand eine Lösung? Kann jemand den Wiki-Artikel für Gutsy aktualisieren?
