Hey,

ich hab grad Xubuntu 12.04 installiert, alles eingerichtet, zufrieden runtergefahren - aber nach dem wieder hochfahren erscheint nach der Passworteingabe

"Unable to launch startxfce4 x session –-startxfce4 not found, falling back to default session".

Dann kann ich auf okay klicken, der Bilschirmhintergrund ist grau. Nur Thunderbird tut sich auf.

Das ist mir jetzt zweimal hintereinander passiert - hat jemand eine Ahnung, woran das liegt? Oder hab ich meinen PC nachhaltig zerstört?

Du hast jetzt drei Threads (Spracheinstellung, Hintergrund, Start) eröffnet. Meines Erachtens ist die Installation nicht sauber durchgelaufen.

Das sind drei Baustellen. Ein paar Daten zur Hardware wären ggf. hilfreich.

Vielleicht findet sich hier eine Lösung.

Ja, und alle drei Probleme sind nach einer Neuinstallation wieder aufgetreten...

Ich hab davor auch Xubuntu drauf gehabt (ich glaub dieselbe Version, ich bin ehrlich gesagt nicht sicher), und es hat prima funkioniert.

Wär echt dankbar wenn du mir helfen könntest, ich bin etwas verzweifelt!

Ich bin da leider nicht der Spezialist für eine konkrete Hilfe. Gehe davon aus, dass Supporter mit den Informationen (die ich mal in Codeblöcke gesetzt habe) etwas anfangen können.

Startet denn der Desktop wenn Du ins Terminal eingibst

xfdesktop

oder

xfdesktop --reload

bzw.

xfce4-session

Mehr weiß ich dann vorerst auch nicht.

Vielleicht das gleiche Problem wie im Thread http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/spracheinstellung-funktioniert-nicht/ .

Versuche mal das gleiche wie hier: mache ein Upgrade aller pakete (sudo apt-get upgrade)

Wollte eigentlich zunächst nicht vorschlagen

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Ich habs jetzt mit Version 13.04 versucht, bis jetzt scheints zu laufen (außer die Sprachengeschichte, aber die gehört ja nicht hierher...).

Und ich hab diesen thread hier gefunden http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/startxfce4-not-found/#post-5187807 - ebenso wie diese Person habe ich nach der Installation diverse für mich unnötige Programme gelöscht, bevor das Problem aufgetaucht ist. Ich hab mir nicht vorstellen können dass Solitär, Abiword etc. was mit Xfce zu tun haben könnte, aber laut ihr tritt das Problem nur auf, wenn sie den Email-Betrachter löscht. Mysterious.
